Hoping either Nelson or Taylor stay in MN after the Indy game....as members of the Vikings. Heck, Bynum anyone?

There is a part of me that is letting myself dream about JT.  1st rounder next year?  Done.

Any of the 3 I'm in. Nelson I'd guess is the most expensive to acquire even with an expiring contract... Taylor maybe a 2027 2nd gets it done? He still has 3 more fairly expensive years left on contract. Bynum probably a day 3 pick?

If it's only a 2nd for Taylor I'm kicking down doors to make that trade.  That is "win the Super Bowl" kind of impact.

Talk about run heavy with JT, Mason, and Jones plus Murray as a run threat… Murray wouldn’t need to pass more than 25 times a game. Paired up with this elite D? You’re not wrong that’s a Super Bowl formula

Yup and Taylor is a good pass receiver too.  The key to this team being a true Super Bowl contender is getting in range for Big Leg Bill to drill deep 3s and turning every possible red zone opportunity into 7s.

Taylor is going to really help both of those things.  Stacked boxes inside the 10 is the best thing JJ could ask for.

Nelson = yes  Taylor i wouldnt give more than a 5th round pick  for , we got one older back now and Mason is plenty  good backing him up , NO  to more r,b,

If we can acquire JT for a 2nd round pick either in 2027 or 2028 I'm in on that. But not giving up the 1st round pick even if it's in the late 20's

Yup, I'm much more interested in what something like our 3rd round pick could fetch.  I'm not interested in giving up a 1st unless we're talking about some kind of outrageously good acquisition that I can't even conceive of right now.

I'm not even sure that player exists.  Bijan Robinson maybe?  Other than that I don't see a single seller with a piece i'd dangle that pick for.

I'm way more interested in Nelson than Taylor..

So much for keeping Nelson in town. Oh well.

Did I miss something and he was traded?

edit: saw the time stamp when you posted sorry I thought he was traded sometime tonight when I checked the thread.

I think I just really, really want Taylor.  Trade a 2nd next year and a 3rd the following year.  Or vice versa.

He's locked up through his age 30ish season.  He's an absolute stud.

Go get him.

Way too much to give up. They aren't winning with this QB, even with Bijan..

I understand that perspective, I think Taylor can be a difference maker.  It's basically the cost of what San Fran paid for McCaffery.

McCaffrey is way better. Better receiver. Better blocker. I'm not interested in half measures. Either go for it, or stay the course. I understand your perspective! Just disagree.

I'm surprised Nelson already went, a 3rd + future 5th is a fair price for a rental. I don't think the Vikings will make a move for a guard, I do think they will add a RB. I could even see them acquire a iDL with Banks/Orange not being trusted.

So they wasted more early picks? Shocker.

Disappointed we were not in the mix for Nelson. I'm calling Philly and seeing if we can pry Landon Dickerson away from them instead...

It feels like a repeat of the 2022 class so far, just like that class, the best rookie contributor is the UDFA punter. I'm still bullish on several guys, I think Golday will be good, but it's just so frustrating that none of these guys can do anything Day 1 when plenty of other teams have rookies that can contribute. Remember when Orange and Demmings were dominating in training camp? Tai Felton was going to have a KJ Osborn-esque season... and so on.

Hey, at least we know thanks to that expose article that the Teasley regime would not have touched Banks in Round 1 (one of the oldest Day 1 picks, by the way).

Over on another site, I'm being called emotional for thinking they could get Nelson and be under the cap.

I'm also being ripped for thinking it's wrong to never have a draft pick contribute year one.... Because it's all about the future!
