Garver and Jeffers ARE NOT BUDDIES

That was only an example of someone claimed off the waiver wire after the trade deadline.

He was still signed off of the waiver list after he became available.  Could easily be converted to a major league contract.  You are fighting a losing battle.

If a team is counting on Mitch Garver to be their C, they are in bigger trouble than they realize...

But, I think it poses a good question: do you want Garver, or do you want Jackson?

He was not signed off the waiver list.   He passed through waivers and then signed a contract with the Yankees AAA team.

He has a -13 defensive score in 39 games at Catcher this year.  He never really was a good catcher, and now he isn't even a capable backup catcher.

.175/.304/.294 slash line

I didn't deem him as even a decent Catcher - just like every other organization.

Actually, there were conflicts between the two when they were on the roster with the Twins.

If Jeffers or Caratini go down, it's not going to matter at that point for us either, especially if it is Jeffers.

If Jackson was waived and a catcher goes down, if Garver is the best option, sign him.  He would be the backup, this happens in baseball all the time.  The risk aversion is why this team can not get out of the mediocrity cycle it is in.

They came up thru the minors together and were usually battling for playing time so that wouldn't surprise me.

I'm sorry, but they already proved that wasn't true... They did great with Caratini and Jackson while Jeffers was on the IL

Caratini had a career month in June, his numbers in May were not good.  And he has come back to his career norms since June.  If you expect a repeat of June from Caratini I have some oceanview property in AZ to sell you.

There is part of me that wonders if he hits better when he is getting regular playing time as catcher.   In either case it doesn't matter.  I'll ignore your banter regarding this topic just as the Twins have.

And there's zero chance that an increase in playing time had anything to do with it, of course.

Maybe they can arrange getting together and having make up sex.

Jeffers was drafted in 2018, with the exception of a couple of rehab assignments, Garver was not in MiLB after his callup in 2017...

Morris in the sixth just like Morris in the eighth. Used a few more pitches than expected.

Adams for the 9th ?
