Could easily be converted to a major league contract. You are fighting a losing battle. If a team is counting on Mitch Garver to be their C, they are in bigger trouble than they realize... He passed through waivers and then signed a contract with the Yankees AAA team. He has a -13 defensive score in 39 games at Catcher this year. He never really was a good catcher, and now he isn't even a capable backup catcher. .175/.304/.294 slash line I didn't deem him as even a decent Catcher - just like every other organization. If Jackson was waived and a catcher goes down, if Garver is the best option, sign him. He would be the backup, this happens in baseball all the time. The risk aversion is why this team can not get out of the mediocrity cycle it is in. Hawkeye Bean Counter 1

There is part of me that wonders if he hits better when he is getting regular playing time as catcher. In either case it doesn't matter. I'll ignore your banter regarding this topic just as the Twins have. Craig Arko, RpR and Church of Kreidler 1 2
