I agree.  That is a head scratcher for me.  I had expected that he would come in today following Ober since they didn't use him yesterday following Prielipp.  I guess he comes in this weekend for a short start.  Would the Twins be crazy enough to give Joe Ryan a start off on Saturday and have Paredes make the start in his place?  That gives Ryan extra rest prior to the ASG since I would expect him to pitch in that game.

Who cares about the all star game? Isn't using Ryan for a game that counts more important than saving him for the all star game? Sheesh...

People ok with mediocrity and never taking the next step are ok with 2 out of 3. When is it time to expect a little more, especially with the big games? Can we ever make a statement?

Won 6 out of last 7 series, minus Dodgers. Id say it's above mediocrity. We've had to dig ourselves out of quite a hole. The team is not the Dodgers I get that. We don't spend that kind of money. I'm just enjoying above 500 baseball for a little over a month now. Call it what you want.

You have to try to split any two-game series, win 2 in a 3 game series, and split the 4 game series; it doesn't always happen, but that should get a team into the mid-90 win territory.

I think you misconstrued my thought process.  In no way do I think this is a good idea.  The Twins are competing for a playoff spot.  We need Ryan for every out he can give us.  I am just thinking out loud on why they wouldn't have pitched Paredes today since this would have been his scheduled day to pitch.  If it did happen, Ryan would have 10 days off (minus a short outing in the ASG).  If you are not considering trading him, it is a thought process to ensure he is healthy for the second half.  Again, I wouldn't do it, but it is a discussion item.

Settling for mediocrity.

I agree with you 100%. Obviously we haven't done that all year or we wouldn't be 2 games under 500. You can't win 6 series like Mortimer Kenny has stated, and then lose 6 out of 7 series. That's what our recipe has been this year. It's not good enough if you want something more than mediocrity.

How many series have we lost before that to get to a stellar 2 games under 500? Is winning 8 out of 10 or 15 out of 20 asking too much?

4 Man booth -  its okay to S.T.F.U.  during the game action , ya know like a Homer  , and finish your talking point after it ,  be glad this is done  after today    2-3  man  is fine ,  but they cant fight over air tiime  ,

I could listen to those guys all day long.  Most of the Twins announcers have me napping by the 4th or 5th inning or so.  I was cracking up when they were all making fun of Span when he raised his finger when he thought he just hit a walkoff and the ball got caught on the warning track.
