The only other thing keeping KC from the everyday SS duties on varsity is Arcia actually hitting a baseball on a regular basis. But yet Arcia has been moving around the diamond and not really much at SS. So move Gray out and put Culpepper in. Fatbat and RpR 1 1

It would seem a move to Culpepper would signal that they are not contenders, which I think is evident, but the standings don't say that at this point. RpR 1

Gray is stretched as the everyday shortstop, 16 of his 26 RBI's have come in four games. He will havesome success, but not consistently, that is the definition of a AAAA player. It shouldn't really be that difficult to move him to St. Paul for Culpepper. And I am not sure it necessarily makes the team worse. But this team is not really a contending despite what the standings say, I agree with that. They need to start being honest with where they are at as an organization. This is why I have started to bang the drum to bring in a senior baseball advisor to help Zoll. I do not think he is up to the task of being the top baseball voice especially where this organization is at right now.

KC leading off and doing damage in the lineup is what they need. He will be fine defensively so it really shouldn’t matter if they are 5 games down or 15 down in the standings. He can’t possibly be worse than what we currently have on the roster. Play the best players. RpR and HarmonK03 1 1
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I like Culpepper’s upside as an offensive player, but I really am at a loss to see that he is being projected as a plus defender at shortstop. He’s been okay from what I’ve seen and read, but nothing more than that. Fatbat and RpR 2

Kinda weird if you ask me, but I can do a quick search also. Do you still believe in your comment from the Royce/Outman thread on that same day? Thought I heard Arcia was DFA'd. I guess no one is perfect :) "I'm not 100% convinced there isn't a Keaschall to AAA move that happens IF Royce can establish himself (big IF). I think they hold onto Arcia for a while to see what options present themselves."
