I'd like to say I was smart and thoughtful.  I was just listening to Plouffe discuss that Zebby didn't have control of his fastball today.  If he was going to stick around today, he needed to adjust to his off-speed offerings.

Tried to sneak the heat by RH Vargas and almost paid. Dialing it up.. last inning?

They're discussing how the Twins are one of the most improved teams with runners in scoring position.  They couldn't find a good reason.  My uneducated opinion is, without the 'stars' in the lineup (Correa, Lewis, Buxton at times), there is no big-time player to wait for to get the big hit, everyone needs to contribute in order for the lineup to work.

Need one of them to start contributing pretty quick, they're down to their last 9 outs....

One of those games where you score right off the bat and that's all folks.

When did games start ending in the 8th inning?  But they do need to get going and at least make Kay work or get into the CWS bullpen.  They are the 25th ranked bullpen but look slightly overworked from their weekend in San Francisco.  I pulled this from this link here:  Bullpen Usage By Team | RotoWire

I didn't want to mention that.  Very important Zebby gets through the 6th inning as well.

I figure Morris and Sim are available for longer relief.. for better or worse.

Buxton is 6-20 with 3 doubles and 1 HR (and 1 BB and 1 HBP) since NOT going on the IL.... .300/.364/.571 (.935 OPS), he's hitting just fine.

I know.  Managing a ballclub isn't color-by-numbers.  And different kinds of injuries affect different players in different facets of the game.  Still, any time he goes 0-4 as DH, I feel vindicated, while if he gets a hit or two, then, well, that's baseball. 😀 Like I said, 2023 scarred me.

Yeah, I am more or less I guess. But I’m more unimpressed with the Twins hitters today.

Me.too.. travel schedule sucked for an afternoon game here but Chicago came home for the West Coast.

Same number of hits and walks as the Sox today so far.  Only difference being an extra fly ball going to a lucky fan.

Clemens raked an 385 foot out, and Arcia was thrown out at home.

Baseball's a game of inches and of bad coaching decisions.  😀
