Red Sox Purge Coaching Staff

After an abysmal 10-17 start to the season that included handing Lucy the proverbial football in giving Twins fans a fleeting sense of hope, the Red Sox have axed World Series winning manager Alex Cora along with a sizable portion of the coaching staff.

Included in the pink slip recipients was Major League Hitting Strategy Coach Joe Cronin.  That's interesting because:

A) how in the Sam Hill is that an actual position? and

B) impressive to see the Hall of Famer still involved in the game at the age of 119

Wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t looked, but no playoffs since 2018 for the Ted Six and only one 90 win season since then too. It’s honestly surprising a big market win-now team kept him that long.

Ted Six is a new nickname to me, but the Red Sox were in the postseason in 2021 and 2025.

Ha, I guess I shouldn’t have made post season assumptions looking at the managers coaching record in BBR.

Nor should I type on mobile version. Ted Six doesn’t hold a candle to some of the texts my wife has gotten from me.

I was to believe big market teams got all the best stuff.

Who knows but this sure sounds like a front office and coaching staff that was not on the same page. 

Removing a manager is one thing. The majority of the coaching staff also being let go is another.
