I will say that the Twins Catching depth is much stronger than I anticipated coming into the season.   Jeffers and Caratini in the big leagues.   Alex Jackson the back up in AAA.  Alex was the bare minimum trade - until we were able to lock in Caratini - but Jackson either as a future backup or replacement this year has value and more than Eeles in my opinion.

I agree. In addition, the catchers the Twins brought to Spring Training actually performed pretty well, especially Cardenas, who stayed with the club most of the spring. Jackson didn't hit in the spring, but he has very good defensive tools and plus power.

St. Paul's roster is going to be a jumble. Too many catchers and too many outfielders who need to play every day.

My question about outfielders is this: why is Garrett Spain on the AAA roster?  They picked him up as a minor league free agent, he's not young, he didn't hit well at AA last year, and he can't fill in at infield positions where they are a little thin at the moment.  Without him St Paul would still have five qualified outfield candidates*.  Wichita meanwhile is short an outfielder, though their schedule doesn't start for another week so other moves could happen.

This whole system seems to be a work in progress.

* I am going by the official rosters listed at the respective milb.com websites, and this data isn't trustworthy, given that they have consistently listed Ryan Kreidler as an outfielder for example.

Yea, there is still some shuffling to be done and maybe cuts. Last week there was about 25 pitchers on the Saints roster. I still see 20 active pitchers. Fedko didn't get to the Twins last year. Good luck even getting playing time with the Saints with Jenkins, Rodriguez, Roden, and Gonzalez all playing at least 6 games a week if healthy.

Fedko's path to the majors probably is first base, with only Aaron Sabato standing in his way.

Caratini, another run a t will catcher. Caught stealing percentage of 10.9, in 2025.
