Correa was at his lowest trade value ever by far, so I wouldn't trade him. Much like the situation with Pablo, Ober, Larnach & Wallner. If he wanted to be traded, then tell him get your trade value up & we'll trade you in the offseason. If HOU really wanted him, then pay for the player he's capable of.

I was super disappointed with the trades. Every trade we lost & lacked relevance. Where most of those trades should have blown our socks off & never came close. A Varland trade that no way should have happened.

Because of the bad BP, the rotation will end up being stretched out further. The result is, as always, a burned-out rotation resulting in further to injuries & non-quality innings.

Fire sale was needed, but the way they went about it was an epic fail. "85 cents on the dollar" pretty much sums it up. Out of ten deals, not a single one looks like they got any real value. Especially stooopid was Varland. His future could still be a very good starter. Same with Jax.

If nothing else, they could have gotten a whole bunch of really promising lower minor leaguers, like guys that throw hard, hit hard, field good, etc. They didn't.

At this point, they should finish the tear down, keeping maybe just Jeffers and a couple decent fielders. Unload Ryan, Buxton, and Pedro. Get a bunch of top guys in Low A.

At the moment, the only redeeming social value for fans is, the minor leagues will always be a ray of hope. Okay then, start bringing up a revolving musical chairs of kids.

BTW, Sabato at first base. Just do it. First rounder, right? Let's find out.

Early in the week when there were rumors of at least 13 different Twins being moved. I didn’t think it was possible to do a good job of having conversations about that many players. I know the staff is big enough to handle all the calls but each negotiation must take several back and forths. I said then that they should focus on getting the best return for the 6 expiring contracts. Probably didn’t happen.

Time to move on. Go Twins.

The trades of expiring contracts: Paddack, Coulombe, France, Castro, Bader, and Dobnak were fine. Nothing really gained but a few tickets of chance. One would have hoped for a big gain on the other deals considering it wasn't necessary to move controlled players. Duran, Jax, Stewart, and Varland seemed to have value. The players now aboard have value but mostly are a replications of current prospects. Seems like some bundling or something should have left us feeling that one or two of the transactions were pluses. Yes, the 2025 Twins were going nowhere, but that was mostly due to weak hitting and deficient defense. The gains don't bring the hope envisioned in discussions of trading one or more of Jax, Duran, and Ryan. The trades that release Ryan, Ober, Jeffers, and possibly Lopez should bring at least two strong prospects. The deadline massacre doesn't inspire confidence in me for future success.

Going for Bradley, Rojas and Abel made me wonder if the Twins feel that all of Festa, Matthews, and Woods Richardson are not adequate mid or back end rotation starters? Perhaps Morris, Raya and others have dropped in the eyes of the team evaluators as well. The direction is impossible to guess.

My personal guess is they think we will have more starter position spots open for next year, or you start moving Matthew’s and Festa to the bullpen. In either case the starter depth will be tested, which is why Bradly and Abel were targeted.
