Nail players feet tobthe deck that you plan on being an integral part of the team in 27-28 seasons, then fly though a hurricane and see who blows off the deck.

I agree with the premise. Even if it means getting worse before you get better. I could not care less about a 2026 run at ‘good-ish’. Long past time this organization adopted an approach that aims higher even at greater risk of being bad for a while. Perpetually ‘competing’, and occasionally capturing, a wild-card or division title in the ALC is not success, and shouldn’t be treated as such. This organization hasn’t been serious for 15 years and counting. 2019 is no exception, where the starting pitcher in game 2 of playoffs in Yankee Stadium was Randy Dobnack.

'Twins Should Be Decisive, Aggressive Sellers at Trade Deadline'

Such stupidity would have just rewards.

I loved this article. Thank you for sharing. It also makes me think that if this were to happen, that they were to be aggressive in trading, that they would target players who are at least at AA if not already having debuted to help the 2026 team. That's fun to dream on.

We'll see what happens in the end. Lots of moving parts with ownership in flux.

You assume the Rooker playing for the A's would be the Rooker playing for the Twins if we'd only held on. I expect Rooker continuing to "develop" with the Twins would more likely be out of the league by now.

Which gets to the heart of the Twins problems. It's not lack of talent. It's continually squandering talent in an attempt to outsmart the game itself.

Squander talent rather than coach-'em-up.  Yes, I believe that's where I headed.

Nettles? Tiant? Etc.?

The Athletics did not get Rooker from the Twins. Kansas City didn't get Rooker from the Twins. They DFA'ed him after a brief trial run. San Diego did get Rooker from the Twins in a trade. Falvey coveted Chris Paddack.  The Twins had Nelson Cruz first and then Luis Arraez firmly in place as their DH. The Twins did make a decision on the 26 year old DH (Rooker) after his .201 BA and .688 OPS in 2021 because the .900+ OPS of Cruz in 2021 was replaced by an Arraez batting title and OPS of .795. There was no room at the inn, so to speak, for Rooker.

Don't look back. It's a saying.

Learn from your mistakes.  It's another....  :)
