Dance with Disco Dan Provisional Member Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I was sitting here bummed about Gardy's backsliding line-up management when I saw he slid Dozier's .228/.301/.371 into the second spot. Then .... a five-run first inning and Dozier on base in his first two at bats. It's like watching someone stay every time with a 13 against a dealer 10 and winning each time. It can happen but it doesn't make it a good idea. Oh well, as long as he doesn't start sucking the dealer's bust cards, I'll hold my tongue.

Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Bummer... It sucks to see a potential big inning squandered. At least Plouffe came through with the SF.

He's pretty good then.

Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Speaking of Blyleven...at the end of his 6th season with the Twins (his age 24 season) he had logged over 1600 IP. His worst ERA was 3.18 (his rookie year), his worst WHIP was 1.17, and had K'd over 1300 batters. I'm hoping Gibson can top that.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Sorry I'm late. Had a gal pal insisting on attention.

I remember that before he gave up the HR Bert threw a curve ball for a strike that made Maye bail and give him the ol' "what in the world was that and where did you come from?" look.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Kansas City scores... Jeez... I'm tired of this Twins Pitching Staff!!!

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 ERA all the way up to 3.86. Get him out of the game. He's done. What a bum.
Dance with Disco Dan Provisional Member Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 But check the splits of Dozier in day games at home. He's pretty good then. Is that right? He is certainly doing well today. Also, I have to be honest that given the players he decided to start, his right-handed options to split up his lefties are mostly worse. I'd have preferred 2)Mauer 3) Plouffe 4) Morneau 5) Arcia 6) Dozier if breaking up the lefties is important to him. But, Gardy's magic sauce has led to a strong start and I am enjoying seeing Gibson in the bigs.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I'd like to make the suggestion that if he's gonna give up hits... Singles are OK.I blame you.
