Scoring only two or three runs a game isn't gonna win many baseball games. Bullpen has blown five or six games the Twins led in the 7th inning or later. So we have a really leaky bullpen and we go long stretches of games where the Twins generate almost zero offense. Not a recipe for winning Baseball. The sucking part, I think we as Twins fan's were hoping not to, but should have figured with ownership unwilling to invest in the roster.
NotAboutWinning Verified Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 How can they be this bad? When you look at the talent on this team compared to the White Sox or A's...how can they be this bad? Richie the Rally Goat, RpR and thelanges5 2 1

They play the game within a game wrong. They give away outs. They give away opportunities. They don’t take away outs or take opportunities when presented. Tlaker, RpR and NotAboutWinning 3
RpR Verified Member Posted April 21, 2025 Posted April 21, 2025 A problem that the Twins have had for years, if they score early, they stop scoring but the other team does not. NotAboutWinning, FargoFanMan and Vanimal46 3

He continues to only let his starters go 4-2/3 maybe 5-1/3 innings and it's just wearing out a flimsy bullpen. There's no reason he shouldn't push his top 3 starters (Ober, Ryan and Lopez) to go 7 innings each start, absolutely no reason. Unfortunately, it seems that SWR has taken a step back this season and he's starting to look more like a long reliever vs. a starter and from what we've seen of Festa he also seems to be a fringe starter at best and can't seem to get past 5 innings. So the back end of the rotation is a bit of a mess. AT some point you'd think they'd want to bring up Zebby or maybe Morris later to see how they handle things, but in general the way Rocco has handled the pitching staff has been a near disaster.
