There might be snow in the forecast, but Twins fans can already start planning sunny spring and summer days at the ballpark. On Tuesday, the Twins announced their promotional schedule for the 2025 season. Whether country songs are music to your ears or you are a SpongeBob superfan, there is likely something on the schedule that will make a Twins game even more fun for you.

Here are some highlights, along with some of my tips and tricks to get these giveaways. (You can find a complete list and pictures of the giveaway items here)

  • City Connect-Themed Giveaways: Pack up your sunscreen and beach towels! Hopefully, you liked last year’s bright blue lake-themed City Connect jerseys, because the Twins are headed back to the lake this year and have several giveaways related to everyone’s favorite (or not) bright blue-and-yellow uniforms. The first 10,000 fans through the gates on Opening Day, Apr. 3, will receive a City Connect beanie, complete with the North Star alternate MN logo. Then, on Jul. 26, the Twins will hand out Bailey Ober City Connect jerseys to the first 10,000 fans. Generally, jersey giveaways come in two sizes- a medium and an extra large, and if you arrive early enough, the staff member handing out the jerseys will ask which size you want.
  • Joe Mauer Statue Dedication and Replica Statue Giveaway: Fans heading to Target Field will now have a new photo opp. Before the Apr. 13 game vs. the Detroit Tigers, the Twins will dedicate a new statute to Minnesota’s favorite hometown hero outside Target Field on Target Plaza, near Gate 34 (right field). Then, on Aug. 30, the first 10,000 fans will receive a replica of this statue. Might the statute be Mauer saluting to the crowd in his catcher’s gear in his final game as a Twin? Tip: If you happen to be lucky enough to be in a Twins suite or Champion's Club for a giveaway game, you do not need to worry about arriving super early to the ballpark to get the giveaway; they will have extra giveaways piled up in the suite or placed on the Champion's Club chairs for you (but you should arrive early to take in the experience, of course).
  • Two Bobblehead Days: This season, there are two stadium giveaway bobblehead days. Royce Lewis City Connect Bobblehead Day is May 24, and Byron Buxton Bobblehead Day is Jul. 12, each to the first 10,000 fans. The Buxton bobblehead isn’t just any bobble, either. Continuing the tradition of last year’s Jhoan Durán bobblehead (which made a bell-tolling sound, alluding to his famous entry production), the Buxton bobblehead makes noise. Any guesses? This writer suspects it might be a truck horn.

Expect to line up early for these. Bobblehead days are Target Field’s most popular giveaway, so arriving around when the gates open is best. Tip: if you are running late for a high-demand giveaway and suspect the stock might be running low, you might choose to get dropped off right outside the stadium doors and have your trusty parent/significant other/friend go and park the car. Every minute counts, and one bobblehead is better than none, right? (Even if you'll have to fight over it).
  • The Twins Let the Dogs Out Again: Last April, the Twins had their first-ever dog day at Target Field- an event they deemed a bit of a “trial run” that ended up being such a rousing success that they added a second dog day later in the season. This year, the Twins’ furriest fans can attend two games with a special ticket package: May 19 and Sept. 2. These seem like perfect times of year, hopefully with pleasant, mild weather for our canine counterparts. Last year went so pawsitively smoothly that I am happy Bark on the Park is back on the schedule.

I was impressed with how well-run the event was last year. The dogs were only allowed to enter a specific gate near the light rail. All the dogs were located in sections 126 and 127 in the left-field corner of Target, so those who may not be as keen to be around dogs wouldn't have to worry about having a ruff day. The Twins did many other howl-arious gimmicks last year, including dog fan cams and playing a doorbell-ringing sound to rile up the dogs after strikeouts, so it is well worth attending even if you do not have a pup but are a dog-lover. Tip: Bring a cozy blanket for your pup to sit on so they don’t have to be directly on the concrete.

  • Two Free Concerts: Get ready to get down at Target Field! The Twins are drumming up excitement by hosting two free, full-length postgame concerts this year: a hip-hop concert on Friday, Jul. 11, and a concert from a country artist on Friday, Aug. 15.  Anyone with a ticket can stay after the game and watch the show. Tip: You do not need to stay in your assigned seat for the show, so you can move around and sit by your friends. And yes, alcohol sales continue during the show. Those who want to be closer to the action can purchase a VIP package that allows superfans to take in the show from the infield dirt (the stage is located behind second base). The artists' names were not included in Tuesday’s announcement, so stay tuned for that. The past hip-hop artists the Twins have hosted are 2000s millennial-nostalgia centered: T-Pain in 2023 and Flo-Rida in 2024. Past country artists include Carly Pearce, Chris Young and Cole Swindell.
  • Light Sabers and Launch Angles: Twins fans from galaxies far, far away will want to mark Friday, May 23 on their calendars: It’s Star Wars Night! The Twins go all out for this promo every year. It is always perhaps the year’s most popular theme night, complete with turning Twins players into Star Wars characters on the big screen, bringing characters onto the field before the game, and handing out special giveaways. This year, the giveaway is through a special ticket package; fans who purchase this receive a Carlos Correa Jedi bobblehead. 20240524_182422_001.jpg.fd2d3c90f917af25f43a8774a44369dc.jpg

  • Kids will undoubtedly be thrilled to see that the Twins are celebrating back to school starting in July and early August, by giving away backpacks to the first 5,000 Kids ages 12 and under on Jul. 27 and Aug. 10. It's never too ready to get ready for back-to-school, right?
  • TOPPS Baseball Card Giveaway: This giveaway is especially timely, because baseball card collecting is experiencing a resurgence. Summer day games are always popular with children's day camp groups, and at the 12:10 game on Jul. 30, the first 20,000 kids (and everyone else) can kickstart their collection by getting a free pack of Topps baseball cards. I love the giveaways that (effectively) everyone in attendance gets.
  • Corey Koskie Twins Hall Of Fame Pin Giveaway and Induction Ceremony: The first 5,000 fans through the gates on Aug. 17 will receive a pin of everyone's favorite third baseman-turned-townball legend to add to their collection, and the Twins will honor Koskie in a pre-game celebration.
  • "If nautical nonsense be something you wish," the first-ever Aug. 29 SpongeBob Night at Target Field is for you. In perhaps the first-ever baseball game in Bikini Bottom, those who purchase the special ticket package will get a SpongeBob-themed Twins jersey, and the whole stadium will enjoy Twins players photoshopped onto SpongeBob characters' faces and other hilarious bits.
  • Fan appreciation weekend baseball hat giveaway to the first 10,000 fans is Sept. 19 and 20. This has traditionally been another really nice quality cold-weather beanie cap (the 2023 fan appreciation weekend hat is pictured below), but last year they offered ballcaps, and this year, it appears the Twins are staying in that lane. Tip: if you arrive at Target Field for a giveaway and see that a particular entrance is out, try walking around the outside of the stadium to other entrances. I have had some success doing this and entering through less-used entrances after giveaways have run out at the most popular gates. Important to note: Target Field staff is strict with giveaways and will not give you an item if you enter the stadium and then try to walk to other entrances.

  • Noticeably absent so far from the promotional schedule are the always-popular Prince Night and Harry Potter Night. In the past, sometimes the Twins have later on added theme nights, so we will see if Prince Night or Harry Potter Night are added, or if they will take a year off.

What theme nights or giveaways are you most excited about? Let us know in a comment below.

They are doing a native american heritage bat giveaway as well. and if the lines (and ebay prices) for the glove giveaway were any indication, that will be a highly sought after one too.

Oops, I genuinely read that as "hat" on their promo list. Fixing this- thank you so much!

I'll pass on the Twins promos.

First 10,000 fans, lol, yeah right. If it's a good giveaway and for 10k fans, gotta be at the game 1hr before gates open to collect the 8k which will actually be available after people buy the first 2k before game.

The Opening Day giveaways used to be 20,000- kind of as a thank you for coming out, and they were nice hoodies, zip ups and vests. It's fine that they've gone to beanies now, but now you really have to be out there early, which isn't always easy on a work day or when it may be in the 30s. Would like to see them switch that one back in particular to 20k. Bat giveaways are always 5,000, and glad to see there aren't other 5,000 amount giveaways because those are next to impossible. 10,000 is hard enough.

I for one am disgusted at not one but two Bark at the Park nights. Leave Fido home; there’s nothing crueler than taking a dog to a park where people are throwing balls around and then telling him he can’t fetch them.

I'm a huge dog lover, but I have to be honest, I've never thought about it like that... you make a valid point LOL! And riling them up with an invisible doorbell/door that is impossible for the dogs to run up and see who's there? That's tough😂

Any comments about the new MyTwins rewards program?

Really good point on this- this is deserving of its own, separate piece- I'm not aware of any previous loyalty programs like this. I'm interested in learning more details on how it'll work. Stay tuned!

They even got cheap with limiting the magnet schedules given away opening weekend, LOL.
