Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 Wow it’s a ballgame. Maybe all those injuries on D are catching up to Detroit
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 I guess it’s fair to say the lions are struggling a bit here
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 His foot was on the line wtf
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 Cmon bears pull this one out!! Lions are down to their water boys on defense
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 Holy shaboozey Mike Sixel 1
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Just awful clock management by the Bears. Come on. You have to fire the coach.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 The bears are so damn awful how do you let that happen
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 That’s horrendous. The whole thing. Penalties clock management. Terrible. Vanimal46 1

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 That incompetence was amazing. My jaw dropped lower with every second that ticked off the clock. I was convinced that they’d miss the kick, but the way they butchered the last 30 seconds will be way more memorable. Mike Sixel and Hosken Bombo Disco 2
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Well, I guess we are all wrong, the Bears handled the clock correctly. Per Eberflus: https://www.si.com/nfl/matt-eberflus-doubles-down-on-bears-game-ending-clock-management-blunder-vs-lions Dang, I wish he wouldn’t say things that will get him fired, I was looking forward to continuing to see him messing up Williams for several years and then watching Williams leave the division. Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Thanksgiving hot take… With each passing year I’m just confirming that I don’t actually like the full turkey thanksgiving meal. Doesn’t matter how you dress or prepare the turkey, I’ve had it cooked 5 different ways. They all turn out just okay. My brother and I were talking about starting a new tradition and just doing beef tenderloin or steaks instead of turkey.

They don’t even bother showing up when the QB is on the IR.

We put so much effort into this meal and the turkey always turns out okay. I’ve never had a mind blowing experience eating turkey. TheLeviathan 1

Did we perhaps realize that expecting weekly blowouts in a league where games are almost always tight is an unfair ask? I mean...short of ridiculous coaching incompetence, they were about to go to OT at home versus the Bears and blow the game. NFL games are close. Wins matter more than margins.

Helps a little bit when the lions lost like 4 starting defenders during the game… Anyway, I don’t expect blowouts every week, that’s absurd and have never said as much. I expect better teams to easily handle poor teams most of the time

I can think of 5-6 wins off the top of my head that make me wonder about the Vikings record. The bears being on the field more helped, you know, keep the lions off of it. A TD a missed FG and 2 punts was their whole second half.

What argument am I not applying fairly? Everyone acknowledges, including me, that good teams sometimes struggle with lesser teams. If it happens every week it’s totally fair to question. Our last best game start to finish was 2 months ago. Lions have those games regularly. Now, if they struggle down the stretch I’ll question them too. What aren’t you understanding, exactly? Does context not exist with you? Cap'n Piranha 1
