Falvey essentially now in charge of the team. More power, more money, more precarious position. Of course, with a potential new ownership group coming in, his position wasn't going to be that stable anyways, so might as well grab it all. Maybe he'll do a better job raising revenues for the team so that he'll have more payroll space to work with on the baseball side?

The question/thought that I have with this, is if you are selling the team, why would you bother making these moves when typically the new ownership likes to do that for themselves, unless, as I have previously surmised, the Twins are actively communicating with said prospective owner (Glen Taylor) in regards to the team's direction. Again, all speculation on my part.

well, its not inconceivable that the Pohlads will retain some piece of the ownership pie.  If that ends up being the case it would make sense that you would do some restructuring.  A new majority owner may come in and clean house but i'm guessing minority owners would have some say, especially if its the Pohlads.

I should revise my comment to say...if you've worked for one ownership group for 30 years and are in the sunset of your career, the last thing you want to deal with is a younger regime moving things into the next generation. A guy like St. Peter knows he's gone one way or another, and would rather do it on his own terms.
