I thought Tampa was an overlooked contender for the NFC championship coming into this year. Now I'm not sure they can hold on in their division with next to no wide receivers.

Also, I'm a bit concerned about the Rams this week for the Vikings. That's a bad team, but McVay vs O'Connell has me a bit on edge.

Yep, I'm concerned too. I actually thought we'd beat Detroit and then fall in a classic trap game to the Rams.

We should win and Thursday night games are harder on the road team. And you would think the Vikings are angry about a loss so they'll focus a bit but, yeah, scary game.

As for Tampa, man, what a horrible set of injuries for them. And their next three are tough games. They'll likely be 4-6 at their bye.

The Titans are starting their tear down, trading away Deandre Hopkins and LB Jerome Baker in the last 24 hours.

They say they have “no intention” of trading away DT Jeffrey Simmons, but that was the famous phrase Spielman used before trading Harvin and Diggs… I would absolutely trade the 2025 1st round pick and more for Simmons.

I could be reading it wrong (NFL contracts are so dang complicated) but it looks like Tennessee would take a 41M cap hit if they trade him. If so, that would be tough to talk them into eating that kind of money.

That’s if they outright release him. It’d be $19 million dead cap if they traded him from the link you shared.

This is probably unrealistic, but these are the players I’d trade the 2025 1st + more if they’re actually available:

Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett, Dexter Lawrence, Jeffrey Simmons

Gut feel is we do make a trade for a DT so we can slide Phillips over to Bullard or Tillery’s spot on the field. There’s been too much smoke over the last offseason trying to sign Christian Wilkins in FA, and trying to draft Byron Murphy Jr.

I'd easily give up a first for Lawrence but I suspect they'd want more. Not sure about the other guys' contracts. I don't want to just acquire a guy for this year. I think we'll make the playoffs this year but next year might be the better year for us to do a big trade. Plus, we have a lot of cap room for the offseason.

I like those names but I bet the team holds onto the pick. Maybe trade a late rounder for A'Shawn Robinson or someone like that.

Positions I'd like strengthened:

RG, CB, DT, TE, RB

Pretty much in that order of importance. I prefer adding a guy they can extend, to a one year deal, but if they can get a good player (outside RB) for a late pick, I'm good with that.

I'd even be willing to deal Ingram to recover a late pick, if they add a RG. Someone will deal for him.

Players go so cheaply in mid-season trades. It's insane more teams don't add players. a 5th/4th for a number 2 WR to maybe win another SB? Why would you not do that?

I'm not sure Hopkins is even that guy for the record.  But your overall point is right, mid-season shopping does seem to be heavily discounted.

Alec Lewis had an article where he had trade suggestions.  I actually really like the Calais Campbell suggestion.  He's one of the most underrated defensive players of the last 15 years.  Dude can still beast his way into the backfield too.  Best part is that I think you can get him for a 5th.

I would love to see them upgrade RG too but I just don't see it happening now.  They're going to have to that in FA.

Rooting for Jags and Titans today. Probably going to be a bad day.

Lions already well on their way to 40+ points

Vikings had their shot last Sunday and blew it. Now it will just be a fruitless game of catch up the rest of the way

Don’t know why this got a downvote. Will be two games back after today. Goff has 39 yards passing and they’re up by 4 touchdowns 😂 I liked it better when the lions stunk and weren’t a juggernaut

Make that FIVE touchdowns

So Jameis Winston has Cleveland making it a game against the Ravens. Have to feel bad for the Browns, if only there was anyone saying that moving on from DeShawn Watson was the right decision earlier..........

And Jordan Love is out again.

I saw the packers just went ahead. What happened to Love

Sounds like he re-aggravated his previously injured knee.

After he went out, the Packers put together an 8 play drive to score. Seven of those plays were runs. Seems like the Jaguars should have known that was the plan with Willis in there but looks like their D didn't even put up a fight.

Consistent negativity about the Vikings is why I down voted it.

The lions are the best team in the NFC right now, alas.

Would have been 3 games up with a win. Now we’ll be 2 back. Huge swing in 2 short weeks. Looks like there will be 7-8 teams in the NFC alone with 5 wins after today. And possibly 3 with 6 wins. That’s crazy
