The Twins have a half-dozen that could/should have been taken and only got the minimum number. It’s one of those years, I guess. A bit scarier is that Cleveland has 6

Shaitan Verified Member Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 The ASG is the only place where individual April stats matter -- and the Twins were awful in April. Personally, I could care less who is picked. ASG is a popularity contest for the kids. Let the "deserving" players who weren't picked have a 4 day break with their families. That sounds like a good consolation prize to me.

As long as we don’t get a repeat of 2022: …plays in the AS game, then misses (rests) the first two games back from the break. Grrrr. MABB1959 and USAFChief 2

Arguably in the Twins top 3 MVP for the first half, given the every-day consistent solid play in multiple roles due to the injuries.

umterp23 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Nice recognition to be selected and the way the system is flawed, getting in on fan vote sinks the Twins today. Regardless of market size, fans dictating starters for the the team is quite laughable. So, bottom line the only plus to being named an All-Star is the bonus $ in your contract clause. Get some rest, heal up and smoke the division in the 2nd half like last year. Being a 2nd or 3rd seed so much better than 5th or 6th and potentially facing a Yank or Oriole in round one on the road

MABB1959 Verified Member Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Correa is a big name nationally. Not sure about Buxton
