When you look at Gallo in the OF, the loss of his speed made him a liability. There's a reason you can't find any OF metrics for Gallo this year. Washington hasn't wanted to see him in the OF.
jorgenswest Verified Member Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 Is it easier to grow from a base of contact skills with below average exit velocity or a base of high exit velocity with infrequent contact?

Wallner's normal fielding allocation skills, are not at th e level of Gallo's normal fielding allocation, it is that simple. For Wallner it is lef field, for Gallo it is 1st base; if they take either and stick them where it is new to them, no one expects either to do exceptionally well. Wallner bats like Gallo, but without the above average fielding skill. (When Gallo played 3rd Base against the Twins, he did Very well there. Dman 1
Twodogs Verified Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I think with Lewis, Santana, Miranda and Kirilloff you have 4 guys for 3 spots. That's probably what you want. I mean if the Twins average 6 games a week Lewis isnt going to play more than 4 games at 3rd. One of those games he will DH and one he will probably just rest. Miranda will be able to sneak a couple of games in at 3rd and probably 1 at DH and 1 at 1st base. 4 games out of 6 would be decent for Miranda, Santana and Kirilloff will get the rest of them.
