I get Funderburk is the youngest - he’s also nearly unhitable since he came up last year. To be more clear, he doesn’t give up many runs!

Bowman has gotten a chance to show his capabilities to the rest of MLB. ……I think he gets DFA’d for Duran or at least Topa in next couple weeks. Somebody will immediately scoop him up.

Alcala will potentially need a spot at some point as well.

Okert - Funderburk - Sands - Topa - Stewart - Jax - Duran - Thielbar or Alcala seems to be the top group.

I agree with this but will they move on from Jackson, that was their big signing and he just isn't getting the job done.

I wonder if there won't be some tight hamstrings or turf toe injuries coming when Alcalá, Topa and Durán are all ready. Staumont got optioned to St. Paul, so they have lots of choices to make.

I, for one don't trust Alcalá yet. He's got good stuff, but he's never been that good and really vulnerable to long balls, especially to left handed hitters. Topa was really good last season, no that doesn't guarantee anything, but it's a better clue than eight or nine innings to start the season. Jorge López started 2023 with six or seven good appearances before it all went south.

I understand what you are saying about Alcala, but at some point they have to find out what they have.  Otherwise every year they are bringing in reclamation projects to throw against the wall and see what sticks.  We need to have some stability in the bullpen.

They won’t get rid of Jackson (dfa). They may trade him in 75 days if they still have a bullpen glut & he’s only been average?

He’s given up too many HR - a couple were in games they were already down a few. 12.2 innings - 3 HR - 15K’s. He probably will level out over next 10 innings. His ERA isn’t great at all but it’s just under 5.00 so he’s not a bust yet.

Thielbar will get more leash  than Jackson but he too needs to step it up through May.

We have no idea if Topa will contribute or not.  He has had one good year so we have to wait and see what he will contribute.  Remember we also have a reliever in St. Paul that contributed very well but hey we need to keep the underperforming vets instead.  And Funderburke will be the next one sent down.

They signed Alcalá with an option for 2025. Stewart, Jax and Durán have years worth of team control, as do Topa and Okert. Funderburk is in his first full year. If they're all productive, that's most of the bullpen with almost no turnover.

Not sure what roster moves are coming in order to activate Duran dnd Topa. I also think Alcala should get called up as well, but I think sending Funderburk down is a mistake. He has been our best lefty so far...

Julien up to 1.012 OPS against LHP

Farmer down to .158 against LHP

Rocco, stop confusing your lineup spreadsheet with your diet spreadsheet.

Good news is if a guys hitting .125 - .170 or so (7-8 guys) like the Twins had 10 days ago, one needs to hit .300 a bit to get up over the .210 -.220 mark for Average. That’s been happening with Castro - Vazquez - Julien ……..Margot is edging up, & so is Santana. ………Buxton has gone from .198 up to .244 over that stretch…… Farmer needs a couple 3-4’s at some point…….a 1-3 would be a nice start!

Getting better slowly - headed toward respectability - not there yet.

Tied for 13 in HR after this week’s flurry…..25th in Average at .220 for Team …….25th in Runs….lots of room to move up!!

The Twins have played the least game and their pitchers have thrown the second fewest innings. This early, it kind of skews counting stats like runs scored and home runs. I believe they are like 20th in runs per game, but their runs allowed would be in the bottom half.

They jumped up against the rest of baseball after last night. Even with less games - tied for 7th in HR - moving up in Run totals, after the 16.

Good point that they’ve played less games - skewing Totals Categories.
