No more Pagan rituals for us. According the MLB's Mark Feinsand, he's signing a 2 year deal with Cincy. No word on the financials yet. He might be quite the adventure in that ballpark.

Edit: Looks like a 16 mil deal with an opt out after the 1st year.

Good for him.  With a great deal of patience and desire to show something positive for the loss of Taylor Rogers, he wound up giving this team overall more value than I thought he was capable of giving.  But, this is perfectly a fine time for everyone to move on.....just surprised it didn't happen sooner.

Reportedly 2 years 16 million.  He was actually good this past year after an awful 2022.  Twins don't want to pay the going rate for pitching.  Go cheap again.

2 years 16 million ouch.    No offense even last year I had minimal belief in Pagan.  You need to put him in low pressure situations and if he isn't getting hitters to chase on out of the zone pitches he is largely ineffective.  He is not a high pressure position reliever.  More just a filler to get through innings in low pressure situations.  That isn't a 16 million dollar reliever.   Add in he is going to a bandbox for half of his games and I don't see this ending well.  2 years 9 million was his expected contract.

2 years $16 million total.

I think fans will be in agreement with the front office on this one that Pagan is not worth that much.

I still don't trust Pagan in high leverage roles, but there is a hole in the bullpen for a guy with his kind of stuff.

I'm going to keep checking up on him because I do find him interesting for the fact that he continues to be consistently worse in high leverage situations and I think it's hard to argue that it is luck at this point.  Even with his second half pitching about as well as he ever has, on the season he still had an .828 OPS in high leverage vs .395 in medium leverage and .526 in low leverage. He's done basically that every year so I don't see it changing and would want no part of that contract.

Pagan wasn't tremendously bad last season like he was in 2022. Yes, he had his moments, but if you put him in lower leverage situations...he was decent. However, I'm sure most of us aren't sad to see him go. Now in the last week or so, we've lost Pagan, Maeda, and Gray. We've got some pitching staff spots to fill. It's going to be very interesting what Falvey has up his sleeve.
