If I'm seeing it right, Twins are the second team to have two complete game shutouts this year.

The Yankees had one from Cole and German's perfect game, so quite possibly the first team to do it without cheating.

This rotation has just been so good.

Excellent way for Pablo Lopez to go into the AS break. He totally dominated the Royals, who beat the Dodgers on both Saturday (6-4) and Sunday (9-1).

Pablo with 119 innings pitched, 95 hits allowed, and 150 strike outs among other very good stats. I would say that Lopez has been outstanding. Let's hope he can repeat his pitching in the second half.

I think you double counted today's stats. He has 111 IP and 138 Ks. That's still tremendous though. He might come close to 200 IP by year's end.

 

Even though his ERA isn't tremendous, I think he is the ace of the staff. He's now 3rd in the MLB in Ks, behind only Strider and Gausman.

True story.  We took my grandmother to see Blazing Saddles when it first came out.  Fortunately she was half-deaf and probably did not hear most of the swears and vulgarity in the dialog.  As we were leaving the theater, she had just one question: "did they ever finish that railroad?"  True story.
