I think they either trade up into the early teens for a QB, or down for more picks..

Cook is traded for a pick next year.

Hunter is dealt, but I'm less confident about that, and don't want it to happen.

I hope not… But it is also hard to see how the Vikings can make another big contract fit under the cap. He’s wildly underpaid at the moment.

I don't think the money will be a problem after this year. Cousins and Cook will be gone, and the cap is going up. I just don't think they'll agree on a deal, and they'll get something for him. If they don't sign him, and let him go for nothing, I'll be disappointed in the FO.

Smith and Myles Murphy are the guys I'd look at staying put for. I think Murphy will gone for sure though despite some of the mock drafts I've seen.

With the Rodgers situation finally settled, I'm going to predict that there will be buzz about either Lamar Jackson or Kirk Cousins getting traded. Kirk to SF or NE, and Jackson to whichever teams whiffed on the top 4-5 QBs.

Not that either will, just that there will be buzz. And don't hold me to that, I'm just more bored than normal during draft week.

Well so much for Jackson! Didn't see that extension coming.

Wish the Vikings would have extended Jefferson before the draft though. What if they do get a young QB like Richardson, Hooker or Lance? If they get a guy that's a question mark, how's Jefferson going to feel about that?

Kirk had to have us arm twisted to throw to Jefferson the first half of his rookie season. I agree, Addison may not get many looks.

Im just shocked to see some really quality corners fall this far. And Nolan Smith too. I would have preferred defense at 23.

Zero chance the Vikings can beat that team. Philly showing that is you are willing to deal for the future, it can be very kind. Deal Hunter and Harrison Smith and Cook. 

This years third and next year's second for Porter? Who's in?

That was an intriguing first round, it felt like picks #11-18 were all weird reaches and left a lot of talent on the board... and then the Vikings took the 4th WR in the first round of a historically weak WR crop. Addison has serious upside, but I don't like how they left so much talent on the board, with Porter Jr/Banks/Murphy/Smith just sitting there. Or if they were dead-set on WR, then trade up for JSN, he's easily the best WR in this class.

I'm not shocked at all that Hooker didn't go in the first round, his draft stock was inflated by the media to crazy degrees, he was never an option for the Vikings at #23. Levis falling to the 2nd is a big shock, especially with the odds of him going #2 or #4 were so high. So much for trading up to #3 to get him, they didn't even want him at #23, and no team was even willing to trade up to 31 for him!

I believe it was Ben Leber who said on the radio a couple of weeks ago that Levis was off the internal draft board entirely. And it certainly seems like that’s the case. 

Hooker is gonna drop to the 3rd round or later. The late steam of him being a 1st rounder never made sense. 25, torn ACL, playing in a Mickey Mouse college offense. 

I really want to find a way to trade into the 2nd round and grab one of these defensive talents. Tons of value available…

A third and Hunter for an early second and another early pick next year. Take the best defensive player there. I think Porter goes in the first pick tomorrow

I do both of those. But then, I don't think just a new DC is enough to fix the defense. And certainly not their signings. I don't know if either CB picked last year makes it thru five games....
