stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I probably will regret saying this, because he'll probably get the game-winning hit, but Ellsbury doesn't look right. He looked really good in spring training (but so did Hicks), but he hasn't been able to make big catches and he isn't really hitting either.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 That looked like a semi-intentional walk, didn't it? Nibble on the outside and see what happens. Let's have no mistakes with Ortiz, please.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Testing One Two Three... Is this thing on.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 5 pages and almost all baseball discussion. Slow night eh
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Some sort of server problem for TD? Massive internet outage? American Legion Smelt Fry's going on all over the Midwest tonight? Where is everyone? I have a good excuse -- I am in Tuscaloosa Alabama tonight.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Testing One Two Three... Is this thing on. Turn it up- we can't hear you in the back.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I just sat down to the game 10 minutes ago. Looks like I was not the only one busied with the ancillary.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I'm a Duensing fan. He signed my baseball in Ft. Myers and didn't give me crap when I mistook him for Dozier (people were calling him Brian and he was signing righthanded). It is great to develop lefthanders and BD is a competent lefty who has produced at least equal to his talent.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 We really strike out good tonight. Real good. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/pullhair.gif (that's in hillbilly voice, BTW)
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Some sort of server problem for TD? Massive internet outage? American Legion Smelt Fry's going on all over the Midwest tonight? Where is everyone?Nah, it's those new episodes of Big Bang and Two and a Half Men. I also suppose not everyone can find the game on Fox Sports+, and there's that other game where they use a black rubber disc.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 5 pages and almost all baseball discussion. Slow night eh What's the sit-com du jour?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Wife's birthday... Had Dinner with the family. Straining to watch the game in the far corner and saying "what" a lot when people were talking to me. cuz I was unfocused trying to watch the game.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Nah, it's those new episodes of Big Bang and Two and a Half Men. I also suppose not everyone can find the game on Fox Sports+, and there's that other game where they use a black rubber disc. And that one is just starting so Burton and Perk need to end this one quick.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 What's the sit-com du jour? Oh we can't do sitcoms every night. We need a fresh side topic idea and it usually arrives fairly naturally. It probably won't happen tonight with two innings left but who knows.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Geez, just looked at AL Central standings and the Twins are holding their own record-wise, but losing ground. Detroit and Cleveland are on a roll. That is the reason why the Twins are going to have a tough time winning more than 75 games. She-cago is probably a .500 team, Cleveland is much improved, KC is maturing and finally has a decent rotation and Detroit is the best bet in the AL to go to the World Series.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 But on the subject of sit coms... Taxi is still my all time favorite. Barney Miller was the best sit com theme.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 The question is, how many more batters does Gardy give him if he is at 85? We won't know, will we?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Send him to Rochester. Big boot.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Agreed. Roenicke in 7th, Burton in 8th and Perk 9th. When I went off to dinner, I was afraid we would regret burning Duensing so soon, in case we needed him to face Ortiz. Turns out, Gardy left him in and got Ortiz for the final out.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Never thought I see Escobear botch it like that, then Mauer. GEEZ
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Happy Birthday Mrs. Riverbrian. i just told her... Gibby says happy birthday. She was pretending like she knew who you are.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 What's the sit-com du jour?Big Bang of course. Isn't that Sheldon a hoot?
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Turn it up- we can't hear you in the back. Turn it down, the rest of us can hear you.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Can't let this game slip away. Just can't
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I just sat down to the game 10 minutes ago. Looks like I was not the only one busied with the ancillary. You're gonna end up in Gardy's doghouse with that college-fella talk.
