Twins general manager Terry Ryan said Kyle Gibson is not an option to replace Pedro Hernandez in the rotation.

 

Gibson tossed a shutout Wednesday at Triple-A Rochester and now boasts a 3.32 ERA and 35/11 K/BB ratio over 40 2/3 innings. Even though it appears he won't be called up soon, the righty is a good bet to spend significant time with the big club this season.

Tim Wood has been shut down from his rehab assignment after developing more soreness in his pitching shoulder.

 

He'll be examined at the Twins' Triple-A affiliate in Rochester. Wood is coming back from a rotator cuff strain and had allowed six runs over his last three rehab appearances.
