PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 That can be arranged. Is there an opening in Verve's basement? If not, where will this supposed time-out take place?
Jocko87 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 FOX game = no Hawk, right? Of course that could just mean an afternoon of Mitch Williams. No sure what to hope for. Fox game means no watch at all in Wichita. Boo MLB
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 That can be arranged. Just do it.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Turn on Fox for the pre-game, they're talking about Boston. *click*
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Torii just said on Fox that Los Angeles gave him a better homecoming than Minnesota, WTF Twins fans?!
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I am stuck at the office and the game is not making it to California today anyway, so I will have to "watch" it on cbssportsline.com. If those of you who can watch the game can post as much detail as possible, I will be grateful to you.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I going to have a short temper with Worley today -- better get through 6 IP
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Torii just said on Fox that Los Angeles gave him a better homecoming than Minnesota, WTF Twins fans?! I can't speak for what reception he had in Los Angeles, but I saw how the crowd at Target Field responded to him when he came back here - I was at a couple of those games. He was greeted just fine, all that you could reasonably expect, and more.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 That's like re-gifting. Tacky.Think of it as recycling, which will reduce energy consumption, resulting in less climate change and therefore fewer games postponed due to weather, or something.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Plouffe is just here for the sights, apparently
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Plouffe is just here for the sights, apparently Please elaborate.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 OT - looks like LA left Minneapolis just in time; their bats have now woken up. They've tagged Porcello for 9 in the bottom of the 1st against Detroit, including a grand slam by Trout.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Please elaborate. First AB looks at 3 straight strikes (fastballs) that appeared to be (from my perspective) right down the middle
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 How about a bunt attempt, rather than striking out on 3 straight pitches?
B Richard Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Great AB by Dozier. Gets down 0-2 then works the count full. Put enough of the bat on a curveball to get it into left field
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 First AB looks at 3 straight strikes (fastballs) that appeared to be (from my perspective) right down the middle Thanks. I am at my office and appreciate all details and commentary. You are my play by play announcers today.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Mauer walk >>>>> Needless sacrifice by lousy-hitting middle infielder
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Great AB by Dozier. Gets down 0-2 then works the count full. Put enough of the bat on a curveball to get it into left field You should consider a career in broadcasting. Thanks for posting this.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Wow, Sox not playing DP depth at SS. Ball that should get them out of the inning is soft single for Willy.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Dozier scores on Willingham single up the middle, Mauer to second. Morneau pops out. 2 out Parm at the plate, struck out first AB
B Richard Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Peavy has thrown 59 pitches through 3
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Peavy has thrown 59 pitches through 3 I am hoping that he was up late last night partying.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Yep, don't care about sweet caroline.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 "Special" coverage of Sweet Caroline Did this really warrant cutting away from the game?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I've got radio only. Gladden has been going on and on about the strike zone. For those watching, does it seem abnormally wide?

For those watching, does it seem abnormally wide?Yes, it's very generous up and on the corners, especially away. Plouffe gets one ball and the exact same, next pitch rings him up. Tough.

Definitely has at times, although I don't really see one team benefiting from it over the other immensely. Good break for Worley IMO
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Worley smirks as Hammer can't get to the foul fly ball -- of course no dive for the ball. Many LFs would have gotten to that ball. Good job to get the DP though.
