Tyler Thornburg, that is. Yep, I know that's not exactly big news. Recently DFA'd by Atl. He's a 33 year old righty. We signed him to a minor league contract. I'm guessing he goes to STP for now, but I have no doubt we'll see him at some point.

With all the injuries, our depth is thin. This is a depth signing. Won’t be surprised if he gets activated at some point … depends on injury and sickness statuses … won’t be surprised if he doesn’t, either. I don’t take this as major league help at all. That would have to come through trades which aren’t happening yet because it’s just too far away from the deadline yet and too many teams are still ‘in it.’ But we have gone through so much of our pitching depth, these kinds of signings are to be expected and not surprising. Depth piece only.

Yep, agreed..."organizational depth" is all that this is.
