Kickstart Miguel Sano Documentary!

Hey Twins Fans,

Last year we directed a movie about Twins' top prospect Miguel Sano's signing in the Dominican Republic in 2009 called Ballplayer: Pelotero.

We am happy to announce that since 2009 we never stopped filming with Miguel and are 4 years into production on a sequel that will track Miguel from his humble beginnings in the Dominican Republic, through the Twins' minor leagues system, and hopefully one day soon all the way to the majors.

We have filmed already with Miguel and other future Twins in Boca Chica DR, Fort Myers, Elizabethton, and Beloit. We have had cooperation and access from the team, Miguel and his family and have the chance to tell a truly special story. It takes a long time to make it to Target Field though and we need your help to make it happen.

We have launched a Kickstarter page to raise enough money to keep shooting this year. Our goal is $25,000; enough for us to make 5 trips to Fort Myers this season and 1 to the Dominican republic. Your contributions will make this film happen and we have some awesome rewards, to get you excited about the future of the Twins! Please check it out.

Every dollar counts, and please help spread the word on Facebook and Twitter.

We may be young, but we have proved what we are capable of with the first Ballplayer: Pelotero. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out on Netflix. Watch Ballplayer: Pelotero Online | Netflix

I don't think the original reply was actually meant as a jab at your cred but rather a joke about the whole Sano age debate.

Pelotero was fantastic. I hope many here will support this worthy initiative.

Congratulations on the first film. I enjoyed it very much, all the more because of its connection to the Twins. I am looking forward to your second film and I just joined your list of backers. Good luck meeting your goal.

I am worried now that I've signed up for Kickstarter, I will get sucked into an internet-hole and spend hours reviewing all the projects. I'm a notoriously easy touch so following your link could get expensive for me.

Yeah. I am going to be all over this and will spread the word as well. GREAT gifts, thinking about the Miguel Sano bat personally and this is obviously an amazing project :)

This is sadly very common in the film industry, it's especially sad considering it was about a topic/player that Twins fans all very much enjoyed.

Frankly, I don't mind that they didn't inform the backers, that money has been spent so the last thing I'm sure they all wanted were a bunch of people demanding their money back all at once. It shows that they are stand up guys to even offer the person who emailed them, the option of their money back.

I wouldn't be surprised if a version of this movie came out in some form down the road, they obviously have a TON of footage/interviews/etc that couldn't be replicated, so ideally someone else comes on board and finishes the project down the road.

Yeah, it's not just filmmakers - I know a lot of authors who work on books for years before they ever get published. Unless you're rich or have the backing of someone who has a lot of resources it just takes a long time. I hope they finish it, I would definitely watch it!
