Well they have now driven nail #1 (of 3) into the coffin of this season by losing 3 of 4 to a team that is no better than a .500 team and while at home. At this rate, nails #2 and 3 will be driven into the coffin by Memorial Day- just 3 weeks away. Some want to fast forward to 2022 but lots of changes will have to be made and Cruz will be gone. Right now things look bleak and the farm doesn't appear to have much help- especially in the pitching department. I still hope they can turn things around but I'm getting more pessimistic every day. Yes, you can blame the bullpen because that is how it looks but the offense isn't much better. If Turtle leads this team in offensive categories, we are in trouble (sorry Turtle).

This happened once this season, and the Twins even snuck in a two-headed coin. Umpire: Call it in the air, Rocco.

Rocco: Tails

I did see a play on reply that he should have challenged but didn't but can't remember which it was.

What makes you say the farm doesn't appear to have much help? Just curious as the system is pretty well regarded around the people who write about such things for a living.

Thats all this team does now....strike out, strike out and strike out some more. Double digits just about every night.

When I saw Yang Heong-jong get pulled the other day after 3.1 innings (Twins had bases loaded at the time) they showed his numbers on screen. The guy pitched 3.1 innings against the Twins....and had EIGHT strikeouts.

That means out of 10 total outs, just 2 of them weren't strikeouts.

Awful. The whole Bomba Squad thing is nothing more than a math/probabilities project. Basically, the theory is that if you close your eyes and swing as hard as you can for 27 outs, you should beat your opponent six out of 10 times. It's terrible to watch, hard to cheer for, and at some point the moving pieces in this project (the players) are going to get sick of participating.

We're watching the death of new age strategy in real time.

That means we are second in line for waiver priority!

Let's check the waiver wire... hmmm, Albert Pujols? :(

He used to be a well-regarded prospect. I wonder if our front office sees something that other teams have missed, and can develop him into a major leaguer.

Onward to the Detroit series. The two worst teams in MLB. Ought to draw a ton of interest.

Our youngest son is in the Detroit area. Big Twins fan, and he was planning to attend a game. He's changed his mind; he'll wait and see in July.

Just one data point. But I hope FalVine pays attention if it's a trend.
