diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Prime time, on the road, against a winning team... though to be fair, I don't know what to make of the Cowboys... but the 3 above say this means we lose handily.. Here's the game thread on purple pain which will be more active than this one if you want to talk football.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 What time is the Iowa gopher game next week?
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Cowboys marching first possession. Game is practically over. Way to go Vikings.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Then the Cowboys failed to execute on third down, bizarrely decided to attempt a 57 yard FG, and the Vikings scored on the short field. Game is pretty much in the bag and Vikes wIn!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 14-0 Vikings, 1st quarter in the books. Pretty much a win, pretty much a replay of the Vikings win in Dallas in the 1973 NFC Championship game Pictured: 1973 NFC Championship game, 4th quarter, Vikings huddling in the shadow of their own goalposts, game well in hand

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Cousins looks great so far! Calm and under control...
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Cousins looks great so far! Calm and under control...Yup. One bad throw so far, but mostly good.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 So much for the nice start.... Wake me up if this defense is ever elite again
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Why not take a shot at the endzone, you're already in field goal range. I don't get that.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Why not take a shot at the endzone, you're already in field goal range. I don't get that.It was odd, but still a great drive there. Overall the offense did their job that half. The defense was ok, but not great
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Free play, and they check down for 2 yards.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Spent all day studying film, spending the rest of the night drinking and being cynical The film from 1973? Must have helped, wouldn't have pulled it out without you. Still in the playoff hunt. Packers aren't as great as they think they are. Still have to come to Minneapolis.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Dallas handed that game to Minnesota when they decided to run the ball at end. We'll take it!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 The offense was very good....
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Solid enough win. I'm starting to worry a lot about the secondary but other than that ... Still looks like a 10-6 wildcard team with a puncher's chance against anyone but not likely to win three road playoff games. Catching GB is going to be hard but is possible. The KC loss (and the BS Packers game) will haunt us this season if we don't.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 I stand by my posts all year, a good to very good team, but not a great team. The defense has really fallen off, as the team has invested more draft capital in the offense, as many of us believed would happen. I believe if they opened the offense a little, and used Barr a lot more as a blitzer on third down, this team would be better. Still not elite, but more likely to beat an elite team. Coaches don't seem to understand that if you aren't as good as your opponent, you need to be unconventional to win more often....
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Agreed on the solid win part. Cowboys aren't a great team, and Dak is overrated. Need some young guys to step up in the secondary. Shouldn't need to burn a first round pick every year to have a competent secondary.
