Heh....

Not only infield singles from both those guys, they both scored on a sharp line-drive single.

Looked like Mad Dog and Butcher Vachon chugging around the bases there...

Mad Dog And butcher

It looks like Tim Anderson of the ChiSox got hurt pretty bad at Boston -- they had to help him off the field.

I know the rule changes have taken deliberate, bone-jarring home plate collisions out of the game, but even allowing for that it seems like a catcher's concentration while waiting for the throw to home might be affected at least a little by the Jurassic Park rumble of Sano rounding third.

I was at the 1996 Olympics and Cypress was granted a women’s sprinter a spot in the 100m dash. I’m not sure of the loophole which allowed her to run as her qualifying times were nowhere close to normal Olympic eligibility, probably something to do with country representation. I was in high school at the time and in track myself, and while thrilled the woman got to represent her traditionally overlooked country, I was immediately aware that while she ran for a PR in the race, it wouldn’t have even qualified for the North Dakota Class B state meet.

I was reminded of that story watching Astudillo and Sano score on that Garver single.

Can’t touch Homer Bailey, then proceed to pound 6 runs in 3 innings against the reigning Cy Young.

Clearly I have this team pegged. Whatever I think is going to happen, the opposite ends up being true.

Thank goodness I have a day job.

*I've been trying to work this in some how and, well, decided to just force the issue. Mainly because I think it's funny.

With that, here are some things to think about:

1. Can Mr. Gibson rebound from his last not so good start?

2. Can Blake Snell, awesome name and all, fall on his face, just for the Twins?

3.Can Mr. Sano became a regular contributor to the "Bomba" squad?

4. Will Mr. Arraez be allowed to show that he belongs over the next few games?

Pitching for the Twins:

Kyle Gibson

Pitching for the Rays:

Blake Snell

5. Play Ball!

Question 2 has been answered.

Now, about question 1?

Oh, man,

I want them to knock the living mullet off this guy....

Next inning.

That's the most heart-warming way I can imagine anyone could possibly say that we have at least two guys who should probably be granted a league waiver to use a Rascal on the basepaths...

1. The 1997 Twins had eight guys with at least 10 homers. Am I misremembering this, or was that the first team ever to have eight in double figures?

2. Last year, I believe the Yankees were the first team to have 12 guys do it.

3. And with two more by Castro and one each from Buxton, Sano, and Marwin in these two weeks, the Twins would have 11 by the All-Star Break.

A Twins team in the late 90s set some sort of record on offense?

I’m sure it could be/is true....but so hard to believe.

"And just like that... all that joy over them Twins' power surge was gone..."

Gibby irritates fans.

1. He can be a little Jekyll-Hydeish but still is a good pitcher overall. It's not his fault he got drafted before Trout. Let's enjoy the guy in possibly his last year with this organization!
