This shows what I know. I didn't even know MLB had a "Gambling Deal". Someone should have told Pete Rose, it would have saved him a lot of trouble. This from Ed Thoma's most recent deserves sharing.

It alms or sounds like the commish wants to give the boys with the crooked noses a heads up?

I wonder if this is somehow related to the explosion of sports betting, and the fact that several states are drafting bills to legalize sports betting.

Manford, Goodell, Silver, and every other commish knows that gamblers make up a huge portion of their audience and they're playing to them. Heck, the NFL.com and MLB.com have huge "fantasy" sections and there are several shows devoted to this. I'm not surprised things are going this direction.

Baseball is just as crooked as any other professional sport. Might as well formally acknowledge it.

Tennis is worse, every player runs a racket.

Crickets.

Questions on past gambling scandals. Did Denny McClain have his big toe broken at the end of the 1967 season effecting the pennant race? Some say the commish brushed it aside. Also, when did Pete Rose gamble on baseball as a player. It was known he was into gambling in the early 1970’s.

The Pete Rose thing was originally tongue planted firmly in cheek. But on second thought if the commish can give an early heads up to the bookies on lineups, there doesn't seem to be any reason Pete couldn't have used the same inside info to replenish his bank account. Maybe he was simply ahead of his time? :)

What percent of Fantasy is gambling?

Pete Rose is involved with Fantasy sports now?

Daily Fantasy Sports, such as Fanduel and DraftKings are absolutely huge business and are most definitely gambling.
