sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 1. Are there still barkers in our modern era? Or is it all just slick editting commercials these days? "Ladies and Gentlemen! Step right to the slugfest of the Century as the top two American League Central teams duke it out for a spot in the post season, right in your very own Cleveland! You have never seen anything like the Twins from Minnesota, flaunting the only player to win a batting title while playing catcher in the junior circuit! Streaking Logan Forsythe, the manslaughter's row of Sano, Cave, Kepler, and Austin. And who would have thunk it, they are behind Cleveland in the standings! Some may brush this asside, as not really a race, a contest between haves and havenots*, but do not let that fool you. A tooth and nail, no bars held, knock down drag out kick a bucket of pine tar contest, for sure." 2. I still must work on my patter... What did i miss? 3. While i am not paying attention, be there any juicy waiver wire rumours? Not one? 4. Minor leagues... Some post season action on the horizon, i hear tell... 5. Expanding rosters. Who is everyone excited to see join the big leaguers for some scalding hot line drives and caffinated beverages? TwinsJake Odorizzi ( R) 1. Joe Mauer (L) DH2. Logan Forsythe (R ) 2B3. Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I want to see more of Astudillo circling the bases and then having Mauer stoop down to give him a high five as he crosses the plate.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I want to see more of Astudillo circling the bases and then having Mauer stoop down to give him a high five as he crosses the plate.Astudillo could sneak into the Little League World Series.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Both pitchers today do best in day games. Toss-up, f'sure.
ThejacKmp Provisional Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 This is random but what are the odds the Twins move Forsythe? Would love to see them get a piece for a guy thrown in purely for salary purposes. Likely just a lottery ticket but still would be fun. Weirdly silent about him, nothing on MLB trade rumors. I'd think he'd be one of the most eligible infielders.

slash129 Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Odorizzi has 5 outs on 20 pitches. Where has this been?

FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 How did Sano not know that pitch was coming, slider away on two strikes, why can't he hold off just once!!
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 How did Sano not know that pitch was coming, slider away on two strikes, why can't he hold off just once!!Perhaps special assistants Cuddy and Torii should teach him how to layoff of those...oh wait...

wavedog Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Got a chuckle out of the mlb game note: Defensive substitution: Robbie Grossman replaces left fielder Eddie Rosario batting 3rd and playing left field. As if Robbie would be put in for defensive purposes for anyone. Hope Eddie is OK.
slash129 Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Terrible PAs by Sano and Kepler .... They need to work the count a little more and try to get Clevinger outta there.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Any word on Rosario from any broadcast? Any injury that takes him out more than a day or two most likely puts Buxton on the MLB roster.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Any word on Rosario from any broadcast?Any injury that takes him out more than a day or two most likely puts Buxton on the MLB roster.Nothing confirmed, but it does sound like he left due to injury. he was limping around after beating out a play at 1B earlier. He did stay in the game at the time, so it wouldn't appear to be too serious.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Radio guys are blaming Odorizzi's lost command on the arrival of a praying mantis to the radio booth. Would that be classified as a Rally Mantis (for Cleveland) or an Anti-Rally Mantis?
mrmpls Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Same ole Odorizzi - 6th inning, every time!!! when will molly learn??
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Same ole Odorizzi - 6th inning, every time!!! when will molly learn??Except for last time...
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Enter the Cleveland bullpen. We’re comin’!!!
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Yet another baserunning gaffe killing an inning.
wavedog Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Must be a team mandate - we have to get at least one runner thrown out on the basepaths every game.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Must be a team mandate - we have to get at least one runner thrown out on the basepaths every game. I can't decide if that would make me feel better or worse.
wavedog Verified Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Same ole Odorizzi - 6th inning, every time!!! when will molly learn??Same Odorizzi pattern and then Boozenuts didn't help by throwing some gasoline on the fire.
