I know the odds are against him... I know he plays with fire in consideration of his control... But I can't help it... I see potential in Deduno. I don't want to thnk highly of him but I can't help thinking highly of him. Hope this feeling lasts the whole game.

You are not alone in this. It seems to me that Deduno could be an ace if he could get a bit more control over his fastball.

His stuff is nasty in a great sense... His control has been nasty in a bad sense...

Too sweet. Just heard on the broadcast that Lirianio is being moved to the bullpen for Chicago.

How many still think we got robbed on the trade?

Not me... Didn't want to visit that camp. I never assumed that TR took this deal turning down a Shelby Miller or Archie Bradley. Besides a SS named Escobar is like having a catcher named Molina. Born to play the position.

I agree. The Chris Berman of Sioux Falls. With every bit as much insight and wit about baseball.

De du no hits no mo.

Bremer f'd it up. He mentioned no hits as the inning was getting under way. I'm writing a nasty email to Dave St. Peter and cc'ing the media director.

Bremer should be reprimanded!!! You don't tempt fate. The wrath of the whatever... High a top the thing... You don't tempt it.

I think the Twins would be foolish to consider Deduno a part of the rotation going into next year.

I also think the Twins would be foolish to not consider him.

Ill give him this... He competes. He's got a door open and hes making the most of it.

It hasn't always been pretty, but right now he's as effective a starter we have, including Diamond. I'm not convinced it's sustainable, but then I'm not totally convinced Diamond is sustainable either.

I didn't watch the entire game, but if the middle infielders could produce like they did today, the Twins wouldn't have lineup problems at all. Florimon and Casilla can certainly play defense and run. Just a little bit of hitting from them would be sufficient. On Deduno (and De Vries), both guys have put themselves in the mix for next year. Good for them, but if I were GM, I certainly wouldn't count on either one and certainly not both.

Until we have better starting pitching, having starting pitching like Diamond, DeVries, and Deduno who are all capable of going 7 strong and giving up 2 and fewer runs every time are good things to have even when we do have "better" pitching. Out of all the pitchers that the Twins have given chances to this season, these three have taken their chances and done as well and better than we were expecting.

Heck of a game by Florimon. Still don't quite know what to make of Deduno, but he's been better than most of the other guys we've run out there this year.

After the KC series, we've got 12 of the next 15 against the Tigers, Yanks and Whities, so the Twins will play a role in the stretch run. Just not the one you want to be playing.

Speaking of the Tigers, their D did them in again tonight. Remember after they signed Fielder how everyone was talking about what an unstoppable offensive powerhouse they would be? Not so much. They've scored fewer runs than the Twins.
