When the Twins signed Anibal Sanchez this winter everyone thought it was a complete waste of money and time for a washed up pitcher.

 

Maybe Atlanta found something and corrected him. You also can't complain about the numbers he has put up this season.

 

4-2  with a 2.60 ERA, 62 K's in 65 2/3 innings would have looked nice in the rotation this year.

It's bizarre how well he's pitched, and he looked terrible during spring training and it looked like the Twins FO gave up on him when they needed to. Maybe Sanchez is just a guy who'll always be better in the NL? If I remember right he only had one good year with the Tigers.

Maybe Sanchez is just a guy who'll always be better in the NL? If I remember right he only had one good year with the Tigers.

Nope. Sanchez had one GREAT year with the Tigers (best of his career, in fact), but he just fine for Detroit the previous season (12 starts) and the following season (21 starts) too, basically just as good as he ever was for the Marlins.

I am happy for the guy but he looked very hitable this spring.  His stuff looked slow too.  I was not kind to the FO for grabbing him and was happy they landed Lynn, boy was I wrong.  Looks like if can get by with that stuff he should be good to pitch several more years.
