Didnt the Rangers win a division title once while being 10 games under .500 at 52-62?  I think it was back in 1994.  They might have been worse had it not been for the strike.  That had to be the worst division of all time.

At this time of the year you see a lot of articles on a lot of baseball topics like this. Comparing full-season outcomes to half-season projections will often look more extreme than they will at season's end, due to regression-to-mean and all that.

 

Such articles amount to "watch this space". Interesting trends to follow. Some will indeed pan out.

 

The ALC's bad, no question, but probably won't be some kind of worst-ever by October. Probably. Maybe.

That's what makes the play of Dozier, Buxton, Sano, Morrison and Kepler so damn disappointing.

Cleveland will pick it up and end up with mid 90 wins.  Seeing as how they have always been head and shoulders above the rest of the division talent-wise.

 

Probably win the division by 18 games, if not more.
