Nice!  Super interesting to remember, that early in their amateur careers, when the scouts only had their eye-balls to go with, there were more hitting concerns with Sano (contact) and Buxton (hit tool in general) than there were with Rosario.  That all went out the window when Sano and Buxton started to put up video game numbers in the minors...and we found out that Rosario swung at every pitch no matter what.  To be fair, Buxton and Sano both have (have, not had...please!) generational tools, and Rosario never had that.  But score one for the eye-balls.  Rosario can flat get the barrel to where the ball is.

 

Here's hoping that we have, even yet, not seen Rosario's hitting ceiling!  And we know that he still has room to grow in other facets

Rosario is a beast. I heard/read a quote that he was considered the best hitter in PR when he was signed. If he is not an all-star there is something seriously wrong with the process. Dude is a top 10 stat leader in majority of offensive categories in the AL. Escobar should be on the all-star team as well, but that's another conversation.

As he's changed his approach and swing path, the equally talented Kep has stubbornly adhered to a line drive approach that doesn't work. Use that frame, those hands, and that pull tendency to hit over the shift.

In all of MLB, Rosario is tied for 9th in WAR for position players.

 

Yeah he definitely deserves a spot on the AL roster.  He won't get it as a starter (because of name recognition) but he likely shouldn't because 3 AL OF starters actually have more WAR than him: Trout, Betts and Judge (and he's tied with another: JD Martinez)

 

He certainly should be the Twins rep, though.
