Backup catchers are awesome, usually some of my favorite players.  Who doesn't like Gimenez, Junior Ortiz, or Mike Redmond?

Gimenez is a funny dude.

 

 

Pitchers are usually pitching for no contact or weak contact, and I’m trying to throw it down the middle. They can try to hit it as far as they want. I know that hitting is extremely difficult. You can tell that from my career average.

Also a fan of "I've heard that I've thrown knuckleballs," and "Castro tells me to not shake him off, [but] only throwing a fastball kind of helps me out there."

 

Is this guy doing standup anywhere? I'd probably go.

I seem to remember José Oquendo playing all nine positions in a game. I'm not gonna lie...it would be pretty cool to see Gimenez do that. Or at least kind of cool.
