70charger Verified Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 No Stephen Gonsalves? I mean the main reason he won't hit 160-170 innings this year was being in Ft Myers 6 man rotation far too long. I would have guessed the Twins would work on getting him an extra 20 or so innings before the end of the season. As discussed, there is no way Gonsalves gets called up to the Twins now. That's fine, but to only increase Gonsalves' innings to somewhere between 8-10 innings from last year is pretty pathetic for one of our best pitching prospects (he had pitched 134 innings last year). Let me guess...Gonsalves will also start next year in Chattanooga as well even though he mastered AA ball. Twins way you know... Whole lotta angst over a whole lotta nothing. With where he's at in innings, he's already capable of taking on a major league workload next year. So your main point is moot. Also, as has been repeatedly mentioned, the AFL is not the only place for prospects to play over the winter. Mountains, molehills, etc. In fact, there's a whole lot of mudslinging instead of much focus on the players actually going. That's a pity. howieramone2 and gagu 2

JaleelWhite FanClub Provisional Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 The Garver thing makes no sense. Let's risk injury (i.e. CONCUSSION) to a promising catching prospect in meaningless games in October. Oh yeah, he's been for the most part healthy all year and he already has AFL experience (last year when he raked). Let's give the catcher back-to-back long seasons to wear him down. I don't get it.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 Just learned, teams can now have up to 4 players from A ball on their AFL roster.
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Looks like Nick Gordon will be double-play partners with Yoan Moncada. That should be a fun team to watch. Austin Meadows is on the team too.BoSox are sending Moncada there as a 3B, I'm sure it's been stressed to the Saguaro coaches. Nicky might get paired with another Cuban prospect at 2B in Andy Ibanez. Gordon's only competition at SS is BoSox Mauricio Dubon. The pitching staff also features "Mr. 105" Michael Kopech, he is great to watch on the mound. When he's on his stuff is unhittable. bluechipper 1
