I like what I'm seeing from Duffey. His heater is tailing down nicely. First two pitches to the second batter were impressive. First pitch was a couple inches low. Second pitch was two inches higher for a strike. That is called command.

His change up has a nice drop to it.  If his arm level remains down, his curve will be very flat.

I noticed the arm angle too.  Wondering if it's an adjustment to get more sink on the change or if he's been tipping pitches or something...  So far so good.

The important thing for Duffey is getting his fingers over the top of the ball, so it bites downward. So far he's doing a great job of getting over the ball.

Is anyone else getting suspicious that the Twins are considering Centeno for the full time starting gig next year?  Not sure that's even a horrible idea, but the thought made me pretty nervous for a second....

The problem is his curve (reported as his best pitch) will flatten out and he loses fastball control.

Yeah, he's not a starter.  I think he has bad hands.

Yeah, that Polanco has a ****ty arm........

I don't know where all those reports came from on Polanco at short, but they were short.

Probably from the same people that got us into this mess in the first place.

Way back in high school chemistry class, I met a kid that liked to screw around after class mixing chemicals randomly, like me and a buddy of mine. I noticed that he was missing the ends of a couple fingers.

How did that happen?

He'd been making gunpowder with a mortar and pestle.

What?? He was grinding the powders...together??

He hadn't thought of that.

My point is, when Tyler Duffey throws his flat four-seam fastball in the strike zone, he's asking for an unpleasant explosion. Duffey should never throw that pitch in the strike zone. You could lose a finger that way.

You went to highschool with Jason Pierre Paul?

In one of his essays, Borges noted how whimsical it was that in the Spanish language should apply virility to a pen (masculine ending), but not a lance (feminine ending). Nota bene that pronouns agree in gender with the object, not the subject. Fun fact: Ancient Greek has three genders!

Declension is an entirely different beast. Apparently Finnish has something like 14 case declensions.

I am just catching up on the GT, but if I find anymore posts of this nature I am notifying a moderator! :). if I find a need to speak in a foreign tongue, I will speak Canadien! :)
