Basically it says even when the selling team takes on a ton of salary, these deals never work out for the buyer.

Don't worry, I don't think the Twins were planning on taking on a ton of salary while trading our guys anyway...

The Twins will have to eat some salary if they expect Nolasco to go to a team that needs an innings-eater for a post season run. I do not see this happening.

 

This is also why we will not be able to move Dozier. We owe him $15 million between 2017 and 2018. This article at FanGraphs suggest that no one will show any interest.

 

I wonder who Polanco will play for, when someone finally puts him on the field.

He's been a bit unlucky since moving to the White Sox. Sure, the ERA is a bloated 21.81. But the FIP of 12.60 suggests better days ahead...
