Linus Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 David Murphy. Duh, It's the Twins.Isn't he hitting 118 at aaa?
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Either Buxton needs to figure it out at the plate, or May, Berrios and Meyer ( yes, I said AND the three of them, not or) need to be put in the rotation. The rotation as constructed isn't capable of missing bats. You give them an OF of Arcia, Rosario, Sanor, combined with an offense that just struck out 17 times against a PTC pitcher, and this club may flirt with 115 losses.

Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Pitching isn't the problem....It will be if the everyday OF is Arcia, Sano and Rosario. Next time maybe read the whole post before replying?

bluechipper Provisional Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Pitching isn't the problem....Does this mean you want to stick with the current rotation? I know Kyle Gibson got off to a rough start last year too, but he has been just awful so far this year, and that's putting it nicely. One would like to think that we'd be seeing some improvement from a guy who's been healthy for a while now and is already 28 years old. I'd like to see Duffey and Berrios replace Milone and Gibson. Send Gibson to AAA and hope that he learns to quit trying to make the perfect pitch and just "lat" it go.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 I read the whole post. My opinion.Check your attitude at the doorIf you read the whole post then why did you respond that pitching hasn't been the problem, even though my post didn't say or even imply that it was?
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 If you read the whole post then why did you respond that pitching hasn't been the problem, even though my post didn't say or even imply that it was?Your post suggested changing 3/5 of the starting rotation. How is that not implying that pitching is a major problem?

Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Forget just current mlb, that might be the worst of defense of my lifetime.

They'd miss more bats, but there'd still be a lot of balls to run down. I'm with your original post though, in let's just hope Buxton gets on one of his hot streaks so there doesn't have to be the tradeoff of his great fielding with awful hitting.

alarp33 Provisional Member Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Changes I would make; Activate Santana, demote Duffey (This is just a given so I'm listing it here - I actually don't want anything to do with Santana) Milone to bullpen, Berrios added to 40 man and MLB rotation. O'Rourke demoted Find a taker for Plouffe, if I can get a couple low minors wild card prospects, or maybe an MLB reliever, I do it. My lineup (vs righties); Mauer (1B)Kepler (RF)Sano (3B)Arcia (LF)Park (DH)Dozier (2B)Escobar (SS)Suzuki/Murphy ©Buxton (CF) I'm giving Buxton a few more weeks of every day at bats. I'm on the record with unless his confidence goes down the drain, you keep running him out there... but I do understand at some point he has to stop striking out every other at bat. Rosario starts twice a week somewhere in the outfield, defensive replacement for Arcia other days. Danny Santana sits on the bench Eduardo Nunez plays for Dozier once a week, Escobar maybe twice a week.
