Angels (5-5):

TBD

Twins (1-9):

TBD

Eduardo Nunez was 3/3 yesterday batting leadoff. He's hitting .778 in the early going. He also played second base, which is directly in front of right field, where Miguel Sano sits. Er, plays. In the third Nunez threw a low block on Sano that stopped the hearts of every Twins fan. Here it is if you missed it:

Thankfully the Kentucky bluegrass in right field was well-watered and gave way to Sano's cleats, saving the young slugger from missing a second entire season due to catastrophic injury.

The saving grace for Twins fans is that the majority of Nunez clumsiness is directed toward himself, and on three more occasions he jammed fingers, took an HBP, and something else.

But with the Bill Dance poseur batting leadoff, the Twins scored four runs for the first time all  year. And more importantly, got their first win. So cheers Twins fans, the primate is off our backs!

And it was also the first time they scored 5 runs all year, as well.

Unfortunately, Sano is probably going to catastrophically injure 2 or 3 Twins teammates before he does himself in. ( I literally laughed out loud, when a few innings after the collision, Nunez made a 90 degree beeline away from a similar pop fly headed in Sano's general vicinity).

Nunez is apparently the new Super-Utility guy.

Oswaldo Arcia has put the ball in play five times. Two of those times, it has been a line drive. Two more of those times, it has been medium-hit.

Oswaldo Arcia has a .000 batting average.

Just an interesting thing I spotted this morning.

I was pretty impressed with the quality of his at bats. That liner to right late in last night's game really fooled me. I thought he hit it out, or at least off the wall.

I'm happy to say the Twins are going to win again today! I'll be out on the golf course and not able to watch the game...

She golfs? Nice. Although golf is simply birdwatching ruined.

"I'll be out on the golf course..." Euphemism?

The Twins facing a pitcher they've traditionally not had any luck against? Check.

The Twins using a pitcher they've had no success with? Check.

Twins win pretty much guaranteed.

Alright, home from the bar, in time to leave an anti-Molitor screed on another post, and catch a couple innings, maybe, before the sand man, (or visions of Wally the Beer man) puts me to sleep.  By gum, it's durn good for us old-timers to see the real Twins unis on today.  First order of business after that win should have been piling up those ugly-arse red shirts on the mound and setting them alight.

The Twinks in their pinstripes and Angels in their away grays, makes it look like a major league game, rather than Carpet Mart vs. Joe's Chiropractic out there.

Yes, I am a bottle of Rum. I am pretty handsome... right?

Geez, and all this time I thought you were a 40-ish man with a small mouth, thin nose, receding hairline, and shades.

I stand corrected.

Since that collision with Nunez, I have already seen both Nunez and Rosario defer to Sano rather than get anywhere near him. Notably, Sano made the catch in both cases. Sano is very determined to be a good outfielder, and it's not a good idea to get in his way.
