IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Hey, if you had told me this afternoon that after seven the game would be tied, and it would be because the offense sucked instead of Blackburn sucking, I wouldn't have believed you. Good night for him - regardless of how this turns out.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Plouffe just got robbed. BABIP unkind.I didn't see it. Despite the lack of HR's, Plouffe has been drilling line drives all over the place. I think he is going to be a pretty good hitter. Give him a little time in the league to see pitchers and their stuff and he will only get better. Hitting line drives, to me, is a big separator between average hitters and good hitters. The ability to get solid wood on the ball will create more hits as well as XBH.

GCTF Verified Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Wait a minute, how will Burton get a save in a tie game?
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Blackburn was impressive tonight, it would go a long ways if we could trust him to be a #5 again onto 2013. That way Ryan can focus on bringing in one less pitcher in during FA and ideally bring in a front line rotation guy or two.

We're stuck with him for next year, for good or for ill. Let's hope for good.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Plouffe confirmed for Tommy John surgery by the end of the week.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Bruised thumb for Plouffe. Didn't Mauer get sidelined with that for a few games earlier this year?

Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Has the medical staff set a date for the amputation? pfft. Medical staff thinks "nothing serious." Couple months of "rehab" followed by an inconclusive MRI, followed by a second opinion which confirms amputation.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I despise Casilla with the intensity of a thousand suns. Irrational, I know, but it is what it is.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Mastroianni has been pretty impressive as of late (late June) I'd be real interested to see him get a little playing time at 2B if he can handle it.

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Fien has been a nice bright spot lately for the Twins, if he can somehow keep it up the Twins have a nice cheap bullpen heading into 2013 with Perkins, Burton, Fien and Duensing.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Really Span? How did that happen for those of us not getting a live picture.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 That is one thing I won't miss when we trade Span.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Anyone else think now would be an ideal time to sign Blackburn to a new 3 year, 30 million dollar deal?Well played.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Really Span? How did that happen for those of us not getting a live picture. He got picked off - commited himself before the pitcher started the pitch - easy toss to 3rd got him.
