TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 If you haven't watched The Walking Dead, you should know that Berenthal is about the best possible Punisher casting you can imagine.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Yeah, all the talk about if there will be season 2's of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, the talk should probably be when is The Punisher going to get a show. That character and actor seem pretty destined to steal the show in Season 2 of DD. Also, I'm guessing Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are going to be pretty linked together by the time the defenders comes around. Perhaps they don't get a solo season but a duet if both of their stand-alones do well enough.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Yup, DD season two hasn't yet been released but the execs like Jon Berenthal's Punisher so much it's already green lit for it's own series.

I hated Berenthal's character in TWD. It's going to take some time to get over how much I hated him in that role. Hopefully, he shows up a few times in DD and puts in a strong performance so I can get the bad taste out of my mouth.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Daredevil Season 2 March 18th. Luke Cage season 1, filming and I thought I read August release somewhere. Jessica Jones renewed for season 2, no date set yet. Iron Fist, not cast yet.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Jessica Jones renewed for season 2, no date set yet.As much as I loved JJ, I would have preferred to see Netflix show a little restraint and move JJ over to The Defenders series. It was a great season. It's okay to let it be a great season and move on to a larger project with the character, opening up room for another character to shine in their own series.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 I think The Defenders is a little bit in limbo while they figure out what they're doing with Iron Fist. There were rumors circulating that character might get co-opted into the films, which I think would be a mistake.

It's going to take some time to get over how much I hated him in that role. You hated the character? Or the actor? Because I kind of think we were all supposed to hate the character, which obviously means he succeeded. Tangent: Also, funny to see that Rick (and obviously Carol) have become way more ruthless than Shane was.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I'm wondering if Luke Cage season 1 is going to happen after JJ season 1 or if it will be a prequel kind of thing. More seasons of JJ and Luke Cage seem kind of odd unless those two aren't going to be interacting any time in the near future. Seems like it could, perhaps should be a co-ed production. Edit: Though a co-ed show would probably take away from the huge Girl Power theme that JJ carefully cultivated.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 You hated the character? Or the actor? Because I kind of think we were all supposed to hate the character, which obviously means he succeeded.I hated them both. Having read the comic, I know I'm supposed to hate the character but I didn't hate what he was supposed to be as a story element, I hated his representation in the show. Some of that is scripting, some of that is on the actor.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I hated them both. Some of that is scripting, some of that is on the actor.Sure, I get it. His character, Shane was pretty emotional, often manic I'd say. I'm going to guess The Punisher is going to be played cool, stoic and ruthlessly just. In other words Carol from TWD. Hopefully Melissa Mcbride has offered him some tips.

He portrayed it quite well. It's kind of like hating Jack Gleason b/c of Joffrey.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 This could have potential. 'ABC is developing a comedy series based on Damage Control, the clean-up crew of the Marvel universe. Variety reports that as opposed to some of Marvel's more action-drama series, Damage Control would be a half-hour, single-camera sitcom following the poor saps who have to clean up the messes left when superheroes clash in their city. The series description details some of the crew's duties as returning a lost ray gun, rescheduling a wedding after its venue was vaporized, or tracking down a prized parrot that's been turned to stone. The series currently has a pilot commitment. This would put the department into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which uses its movies and TV series as part of one large shared universe. It's a good thing, too, because with Captain America: Civil War just around the corner there's bound to be some more destruction coming to New York.'
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Watch out for Deadpool - everything about this movie, the promotions, and Reynolds' 100% commitment to the character scream that they're going to get this right. It'll be juvenile, but it may also be righteously hilarious.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 They just might be doing this one right too. Though, at this point I think Hawley could do most anything and I'd give it a shot.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 Daredevil turning up the intensity even more. http://youtu.be/m5_A0Wx0jU4
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 It's still my favorite Marvel show and this looks to up the ante even more. Awesome trailer.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 I just finished Season 1 of Daredevil. Liked it better than Jessica, which is a complement.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Daredevil Season 2; here.. we... go!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 If anyone wants to talk DD season two, be sure to create a spoiler thread. I'm going to take my time watching it so I don't want anything spoiled.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Mum's the word. Halfway through; it's very good.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I finished House of Cards season four just before the NCAA tourney started. I plan on picking up DD season 2 Monday after the first two rounds are over.

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 The teaser for Luke Cage, coming in September. https://www.netflix.com/watch/80100874?trackId=14535108

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 Okay, announce Season 3 already, Marvel.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Okay, announce Season 3 already, Marvel.I suspect they'll wait a few weeks, maybe even a month or two. DD and Netflix have all the hype they need right now and season three is virtually a lock; they may as well wait until the news and hype die down so any season three announcement gets significant press.
