Possible Twins and Nationals trades

I have read many different spins on possible trades with the Padres but I wonder if the Twins and Nationals could match up. Washington is open to trading Storen and possibly Ramos if they sign Wieters. I have also read that Strasburg could also be in play. Wondering what sort of combinations could work for a trade to be put together with Washington. They will possibly lose Desmond, Zimmerman and Span to free agency so they will have holes to fill.

If the Twins are in contention and the Nats aren't, I think making a midseason move for Strasburg would make a lot of sense. But, if thats the case, he's likely to be the number one rental target and command a lot of value.

I do think Storen to the Twins is a real possibility.  They've been linked to him before the 09 draft and in the first rounds of Span trades.  With one year left and an absolute need to move him I think the Twins could get him for something like their supp second round pick, which they could trade.  He shouldn't cost much more than Jepsen, IMHO.

I'd pass on Ramos, which has been discussed before.

I'm not willing to pay the price on Strasburg.  He'll be a FA and won't sign an extension.  His k/9 look great but he dealt with a bunch of injuries last year (only 127ip) and has yet to have a great season.  His 2014 is probably his best - led the league in K's, 3.5 WAR, 200+innings for the only time.  I think he'd cost far more than he'd be worth.

I'd trade the sup pick for Storen in a heart beat.  I think it would cost more than that though.  I could see them asking for JT Chargois, Jake Reed, or Nick Burdi.

As far as catchers go, I hear a lot of "lets trade for Lucroy" or "Ramos," in this case.  I'd rather sign Alex Avila or Jeff Mathis and hang onto Plouffe/Hicks.

I wasn't promoting Strasburg. In fact I agree with you that the price would be too steep. I was just using that reference to make my point that Washington seems to be willing to make some moves. Would love to add Storen.

Storen for one of the college relievers and the supplemental 2nd round pick? Sold. That would give the Twins 3 very solid options for the 7-8-9 innings and all would have closing experience in case if Perkins flames out in the 2nd half again.

I'd give up any combination of the non Sano, Buxton, Rosario, Berrios, Kepler group to bring in Strausburg and Storen.

Yea, but what are the odds that that would happen?  Realistically that leaves, what, Gordon as the headliner?  He hasn't played at a high enough level to be a headliner of this deal.
