I feel in need of a dose of culture, so I'm going to go jerk some wings and watch Hot Tub Time Machine 2.

The entire Twins Daily community apologizes for not providing you with your dose of culture...

How do those movies do? The concept sounded interesting, but i never bothered to find a copy or watch 'em...

The first one was idiotic, but I like that sometimes. I expect the sequel to be idiotic as well, I'm in the mood for idiotic after blowing 3 hours on this team tonight. The game thread, however, was hilarious.

The fleet's beginning to break up... Dumping garbage... Ah yes.

We have our moments. Not many of 'em but we do have 'em.

Bitch, bitch, bitch, moan moan moan (me).

I know people on this site were pissed about May going to the bullpen, being replaced by Santana, and I am part of that crowd. Some other clown should have had that ticket.

They sent him to the bullpen, and didn't use him very much the first few weeks. Eventually they began to use him in high leverage situations and he was excellent.

Just when he was finding his niche as the 8th inning guy, the Twins pull the rug from out under him and give him a spot start (?) and it's a mess. Once the Twins sent him to the bullpen, that is where he should have remained for the rest of the season. It is super unfair to Mays and his development.

This was a good time to call on Berrios. Certainly his start could have been a disaster, but he is stretched out and good to go.

Even though it appears like the season is slipping away, we still have a slight grip on it.

Terry Ryan botched this decision and this same old kind of **** decision making is getting tiresome.

It was all too predictable, too. Nothing like a GUARANTEED short start, with a bad bullpen, to set up a weekend series.

Just so we all know ahead of time, Duffey is on short rest tomorrow, too.

Well played, Mr Ryan.

"Sweet are the uses of adversity,
Which, like the toad, ugly and venomous,
Wears yet a precious jewel in his head;"

I think he'll and on his feet.

there's a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out
but I'm too tough for him,
I say, stay in there, I'm not going to let anybody see you.

there's a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out
but I pour whiskey on him and inhale cigarette smoke
and the whores and the bartenders and the grocery clerks
never know that he's in there.

there's a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out
but I'm too tough for him,
I say, stay down, do you want to mess me up?
you want to screw up the works?
you want to blow my book sales in Europe?

there's a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out
but I'm too clever, I only let him out at night sometimes
when everybody's asleep.

I say, I know that you're there, so don't be sad.
then I put him back, but he's singing a little
in there, I haven't quite let him die
and we sleep together like that with our secret pact
and it's nice enough to make a man weep

but I don't weep, do you?

Definitely makes you wonder about the mindset of management at this point, just like at the trade deadline. No real faith  in this team, and they probably know it.

I must read this Charles Bukowski...

Thank you for the cultural stimulus.

I have never been one to bitch about Terry Ryan and what he does. Up until a month ago I was on board.

What has and has not happened since that point is dumbfounding.

It's an embarrassing mess and Ryan needs to have some transparency to explain this stuff away. I don't think he can.

Jerry DiPoto please.

I take that back... Now that i think of it, i don't believe it was a Dr. Demento collection... I believe it was a music used on Car Talk collection. And it may have well been unique in that collection as the only song not specifically mentioning cars...

Thinkin' o' that, i'll dedicate this one from that collection to the remainder of the Twins season.

I got a great idea... Let's win out, kinda like that one Rockies season a few years ago...

Why didn't i think of this earlier?

Awesome!  '62 Rambler with space-age push-button transmission.  Built like a tank, probably pig-iron.  The car I learned to drive on.  Thanks for the memories!!   :jump:

Heh...  true that.

By golly, tho, it's nice to find something to smile about in the midst of the home team suck-fest.

Thanks!

Alas, i don't think we passed anyone last night (though i could be mistaken)

Anyway, your post brought to mind the followin' song, which i think i recently got somewhere in a pile of ancient sheet music... Might try to dig it out.

(And now i'm tryin' to come up with a parody...

"Smeagol, though you've lost the precious.

Smeagol, you still catch the fishes..."

is about as far as i got.)
