Stop it guys, you're making me way too hungry for chocolate cake this early in the morning.... 

EDIT: As I'm looking at pictures of chocolate cake on the internet. Dang it.

I did have a double helping of cake yesterday... A co-worker's birthday where ice cream cake was brought in, and a good friend's birthday with red velvet bundt cake. I got my cake fill for a while now :)

We've got some more goodies today....

Today is National Blueberry Pancake Day! Other than breakfast tacos, blueberry pancakes are one of my favorite breakfast meals... 

Today is also National Have Fun at Work Day! So pull some pranks on your co-workers. HR can't do anything to you because it's a national holiday. 

 

Today is also National Data Privacy Day. So change up your password every now and again. Especially if your password is password123.

OK, on a downer note, today is also the 30th anniversary of the Challenger explosion.

 

I remember getting ready to leave the fraternity house, and two of my brothers watching it happen on the tv. Not as personally and professionally shaking as 9/11, but impossible to forget.

I was heading back to work at the downtown law firm I was working for, riding the MTC after having a really lousy job interview with the U of M computing services.

 

When I got back and heard about it I didn't believe it at first. Then shock set in.

I would not have pegged you as slightly older than me, but then I don't peg anyone as older than me anymore......

That is a downer. Unfortunately I wasn't alive at the time when the Challenger exploded. (I really don't mean to make you or Mike feel old, it's just the truth) Wasn't that also broadcast on live TV as well?

Just out of morbid curiosity I'm interested to find out how old Chief is now. But I'm afraid you, or Chief himself, would have to kill me after disclosing classified information.

I was in elementary school, watching it live on TV. We all sat in stunned silence for a number of minutes until our teacher broke out bawling. One of the worst live tragedies I've ever witnessed - second only to watching the towers fall live from the media room in the Sports Pavillion with the other sports marketing staff.

We've got 2 goodies to end the week on....

Today is National Puzzle Day! I love puzzles. It's not too often I pull out a jigsaw puzzle anymore, but word puzzles and games are my thing. My favorite app at the moment is Word Brain..

Today is also National Corn Chip Day! Chips and salsa, chips and queso, chips and guacamole, need I say more?
