Blonde brownie, like with white chocolate? How else would one make a blonde brownie?

It's probably obvious I'm not a baker eh?

I'm not a baker either, but apparently it's made with brown sugar instead of cocoa (I think that's what normal brownies require?) Either way the picture looks great.

Halloumi is my favorite cheese ever. fantastic flavor and a versatile cheese.

Hmm, never heard of Halloumi, but I am intrigued. What does it go good with for a meal?

Halloumi is a Cypriot cheese made of goat and Sheep milk. What I love about it is that is can be grilled or fried and, because it has such a high melting point, it still maintains most of its form. I enjoyed it a lot in breakfast sandwiches or just to nibble on after I grilled it.

Okay, since we're throwing out cheeses to try instead of talking about blonde brownies ... which aren't brownies but just dessert bars cut into squares, I mean really ... Gjetost. Awesome! It's somewhat a required taste although not overly sharp or pungent, but it's denser as it's made from the whey instead of the curd. It's a Scandinavian goat cheese. It's great with fruit or on toasted bread/bagel/whatever. I've even made grilled cheese and apple sandwiches with it. Really. It's amazing stuff!

Happy Monday everyone.

For those that missed it yesterday, Sunday was National Peanut Butter Day! So feel free to celebrate again today.

Today is also National Opposite Day! So to everyone on this post, I hate your guts....

Today is also National Irish Coffee Day. It's been a while since I've enjoyed an Irish Coffee...

What? I missed peanut butter day? Dang. That is my oldest son's favorite food (of course, he's at college, so it's not like we could have partied together).

Well, as of today I have (temporarily) given up coffee.....so I guess I'm not in on that one.

I mean, you could always send him a care package of Peanut Butter and say happy national peanut butter day! Getting care packages in college is one of life's simple pleasures.

Maybe I'll bake some peanut butter cookies, send the ones with Chocolate to the younger, and the ones w/o to the older (who does not eat chocolate.....oddly).

Of course, since I'm also giving up sugar and flour for a bit.....baking might not be my thing.

Everyday is Peanut Butter day in my home. It's one of my staples. Whenever I don't want to fix a proper meal, or am too tired to, or just don't know what I want, it's peanut butter toast.

Any kind of coffee, 'Irished up' or otherwise, meh. Unless it's truly quality, rich, fine coffee and not that bitter, burnt swill Starbucks serves.

You need to go to Dunn Bros. when you come up here for the Meltdown.

Isn't Irish coffee just, uh, like coffee and whiskey? Was when I was in Ireland.

Who wouldn't be down for that? Other than my boss perhaps.

Yup.

We've got a couple of goodies today....

Today is National Green Juice Day! Or to the ladies in my office, today is Tuesday. I've tried some green juice, and I don't care how healthy it is.... It's tough to swallow.

Today is also National Spouses Day! So make sure your better half recognizes how great you are....

Today is also National Peanut Brittle Day! I am a fan of Peanut Brittle for sure.

Green juice? Does lime-ade count? or lime Kool-Aid?

I make a green smoothie that is really good. The color can be a bit ... off-putting ... but it's actually quite good.

Kale, apple, ginger and garlic is a great green juice combo.

Do it.

I make a smoothie with kale and spinach with some pure apple and carrot juice and fresh ginger. Occasionally I'll add some cucumber or avocado, too.

Naked juice, green, is yummy. the best of the nakeds......

Every person has their own preference of which naked they like, and it's all just fine as long as it's two consenting adults...
