DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 7/25 Twins signed LF Xavier Avery to a minor league contract. Is this just another run of the mill minor league signing or adding a player to take Arcia's roster spot in Rochester? I don't expect Avery to ever really contribute to the big league club but the move gives Rochester six outfielders three of which are LF. Wilken Ramirez is on the 7-day DL I don't know how long he's been on the DL and don't know if it'll be long term or not. So is this a move anticipating Arcia will be called up or traded or just an extra outfielder?

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Is it just me, or do the Twins seem more interested in helping Rochester to a pst season slot than the Twins?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 This move blocks AA OF from being promoted. That is about it.
SF Twins Fan Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Well seeing as how Ramirez broke his leg and is out for the season Rochester only has 5 outfielders that can play.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Just AAA depth (but I'd rather see them promote Kepler).
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'd look for one of the older-ish player to be put on waivers. Avery is still only 25, but I don't really see anything exciting about him.
