sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Sano walks. Another reason to bring up Oswaldo Arcia. Instead, Plouffe bunts back to the pitcher. Whoopsie! I'm good with the walk. A 3 run solo homer is a contradiction in terms. Plouffe got creative, and yeah, i think he wanted it further down the line. I'm okay, if he learns and succeeds with the ploy later... Anyway, there will be other games. For some reason, I'm used to west coast games always being tough, even against down teams.

You don't want your big bopper flailing at junk no matter what. My point was that if you have Oswaldo Arcia available to hit against a RH pitcher in this situation, he helps protect Sano from getting nothing but junk. What Plouffe did was just silly, not really part of my point. Arcia is simply a much better match-up.
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 They had Plouffe, their #5 hitter, trying to BUNT in the 9th for a hit? I'm sorry, doesn't that seem like a ridiculously dumb idea?

JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 Well, I went to sleep when it was 3-2. I see it didn't improve. A chance today to salvage one game of this road trip. Hope they make it happen.
